As the red-clad girl continued speaking, the teenager’s face only grew more and more confused.

Beacon… Academy?

So it was a school and not a club… Last time he checked, Steelport didn’t have many schools. It… Wasn’t exactly the most child-friendly city, after all…. And the few they did have, he doubted would be world famous unless it was famous for how goddamn shitty it was. 

Now, when the city of Vale was mentioned, while he was still a bit confused as to where these places were, he began understanding the situation more.

Obviously she was in the wrong city which was why she could not find what she desired.

“I apologize, but I’ve got a bit of bad news for you.” He replied, an awkward look forming on his face, “We’re in the city of Steelport, not.. Erm… Vale. I’ve… Never even heard of such a city before.”

“Wait. Never heard of Vale?” Ruby was quite confused, almost dumbfounded as she looked at the other. Quite strange. “Vale is one of the largest cities in the world! How do you not know of Vale?!” The girl was incredibly confused, and almost began to panic. 

If she wasn’t in Vale, where was she? Where was her sister? Where was anybody?! The girl quickly pulled out her Scroll, trying to call any of her teammates but all she got was the same response. No signal.

“I..I-I think I’m lost. I don’t know where I am. Or where sis is.” Ruby looked around nervously, as she slowly began to back away from the other.

         “That will depend on if I’m in the doubles, and how well I do there. My father isn’t known much for his kindness.”

“I’m sure you’ll be in the doubles! And you’ll do awesome, might I add!” Ruby smiled before patting Pyrrha on her shoulder to try and comfort her.  “Everything will be fine!”

         “Exactly.”

Well that would explain the sad expression on her friends face. “Don’t worry...I’m sure it’ll go better next time.”

Why do Americans put the month first. It just makes no sense.

We put the month first because in conversation we say, “July 1st, 2015.” Because it’s quicker than “The first of July, 2015.”

“Tomorrow is May 29th” not “Tomorrow is the 29th of May.” That is why we write it 5/29/15 and not 29/5/15. Because we go by how we phrase it in conversation rather than in sequence because it converts better between numbers and language when written in the former. We also use the month first because that’s how calendars are organized. You have one year and one calendar so the year is a constant and can go in the back. However, calendars aren’t organized my days, but rather by months. You flip to the months first and then find the day. So…. p>

While on this topic, we also use Fahrenheit and not Celsius because a 0-100 scale of measuring temperature makes a lot more sense to a human. We know that 0 is really fucking cold and 100 is really fucking hot, which makes sense. Celsius, however, is just about how water responds to temperature, and makes no sense when applied to humans. Fahrenheit is for people, Celsius is for water. And I am a people not a water.

I find this very funny cause you say that but your independence day is not called July 4th, its called the 4th of July.

What I find funny is that our armies were about half the size of the British army and yet we were still able to crush your crumby asses, declare independence and pour your tea in the ocean.

Besides…it’d get better…right? That’s what she kept telling herself, hoping that it would be true.

Letting out a small sigh, the girl ran a hand over her face before hearing footsteps approach the room. Heels? It was either Blake, Weiss, or Pyhrra…Listening closer, they sounded more muted. She was getting good at distinguishing footsteps. “Weiss? Is that you?”

Team RWBY hadn’t been out for training since the day of the incident, a couple days ago. They’ve been all too devastated- even Weiss herself felt this way, on what had happened to Ruby. They all had trouble sleeping , hoping Ruby’s eyesight would come back sooner or later. They weren’t even allowed to see her, it was horrid.

Until, Weiss couldn’t help herself and sneaked into the clinic of the academy in order to see her partner. Heck, even with Ruby’s CHILDISH SELF she manages to accept the Rose’s in a way that she considered her a friend; that the incident was something the heiress needed to take SERIOUSLY.

She smiled at the Rose’s guess of who she was. Despite her loss of vision, the Rose manages to figure out who was walking by the room. It could be anyone at this moment, yet Ruby didn’t flinch in fright nor guessed it was some random person.

‘Yes. I wouldn’t have expected you to recognize me with simply my heels hitting slightly on the wooden floor.’ she chuckles, heading her way to Ruby. ‘how are you holding up?’

“Well...You are my partner. I’d sneak in to see you too.” The girl had to laugh a bit before shaking her head. Who else besides her friends would like to see her? It was...probably the middle of the night, seeing that she was put to bed not more than two hours ago. Ruby figured that somebody would come to visit when they weren’t supposed to. 

“I guess I’m doing okay...” Ruby shrugged a bit, smiling up into the air before she gestured to an empty spot on the bed for the Heiress to sit. She wasn’t sure if she should break the bad news or let the doctors...For now, Ruby was going to pass that off for a later time. Weiss came all this way to see her, and she wouldn’t let this be a sad visit if she could help it. 

“I should be out in a week or so, and visits will be allowed in two days...during visiting hours.”

  “Unfortunately, I don’t like      parties though.”

“But Linaaaaa!”

“Really?     Come on now.”

“Yep! We’re having a party, and you have to go.”

So she was lost, hm…?

This came as no surprise to the young gang leader.The people of Steelport could wear some odd clothing at times (Don’t get him started on the bloody mascots.), but he had never seen something quite like this before. It was interesting to say the least.~

In a good way, of course.

After all, he did fight off his social anxiety to approach her, of course it was in a good way.

Now– as she mentioned a place called Beacon, Matt’s face was quick to distort to a more confused look 

Beacon…? What on earth was that?

It almost sounded like some sort of club to him– but… No matter what it was, it wasn’t in his territory.

“Beacon…?” He asked, “I apologize– I have no bloody clue what that is…” He replied, looking around as if he were searching for an answer. “Ah– Is … Is it in the city? I mean– I’ve never heard of it before, but I certainly can do my best to help you find your way back.”

The girl tilted her head in confusion. He’s never heard of Beacon before? It’s one of the most famous schools in the world, how could he not hear of Beacon?! That utterly confused her, and worried her that he didn’t even know what it was!

“Uh...Beacon Academy? Y’know...One of the most famous schools in the world. To train hunters and huntresses? It’s in the City of Vale...? The one we’re in...?” After each question, her voice became more and more hesitant as the look stayed on his face. She became more and more nervous, and slightly afraid. 

“...We are in Vale, right?”

“Ehh…” Blake gave a light shrug as her wrist clicked, she grimaced shortly there afterwards. “Nothing much other than the ploy to get your sister and Weiss out for a bit… I bumped into Velvet earlier as well and spent some times talking to her but otherwise, it was a rather boring day.” She would leave out the bit where she nearly broke Cardin’s arm for making a joke at Ruby’s expense and instead, broke his nose. She was still waiting on Glynda to reprimand her for that…

She quickly decided against asking Ruby how her day went, she could hazard a guess at how it did and the girl clearly didn’t want to talk about her disability. Instead, she opted for pulling out her scroll. “I do have some pretty neat songs to share with you though if you fancy enduring me drone on about a few of my favourite bands?” This was an activity they both could partake in, she would’ve gone to reading but with Ruby’s blindness… Out if the question.

Of course she’d want to listen to music! Who wouldn’t?! Ruby was glad to have Blake with her as she adjust herself to sitting up. “Yea! I mean, you listened to me go on about semblances!” The girl laughed before freezing, her hands waving a bit nervously as she thought about what she said.

“I mean, not that hearing you talk about your bands would be boring! That’s not what I meant I just meant that I wouldn’t mind listening to music and talk about it!” Hearing about her friends interests were important to the leader, and if it interested her teammates, she wanted to hear about it! 

Blake had to dive for pen and paper whilst Ruby was talking to write it all out in short hand notes, bullet points and scrawled notes were all over the paper and Blake could only grin. “I think I got the most of it, Ruby.” God, she had more than two pages worth on it’s own if she wrote it all out. She would make sure that Oobleck knew Ruby helped her or perhaps even hand it in on Ruby’s behalf. It wouldn’t bee too hard to write her own essay up with different notes if anything but she would talk to Weiss about it first since she had taken the reigns on helping Ruby study and do homework for her. 

“I believe I wont have to worry about running out of things to talk about on this essay.” She chuckled, setting the paper down and flexing her wrist that had begun aching. “I will have to get you to help me more often on my essay’s if you keep that up but thank you. You have saved me at least two hours of painstaking research into this.”

“I’m glad I could help!” The girl smiled once again, glad to be able to help someone instead of them helping her. It felt good. It made her feel happy. She saved her friend from boring research and now she could use that time for something else.

Now that that’s out of the way, Ruby rocked a bit on the bed before looking over at Blake. “So how was your day today? Did you do anything exciting?” Ruby wanted to keep the attention off of her, wanted to keep moving forward and just put this past her. No matter how hard it was to keep that smile on her face. 

That smile was what she was aiming for, Blake couldn’t help but proudly smirk that she had managed to cause it. Though on the topic of homework… What a way to spend her evening. She wanted to groan at the thought but perhaps she could merely do the bits that she hadn’t done and leave it at that.

“Well, perhaps you can help me out with the essay Oobleck set us?” Now the groan left her lips. “As fascinating as I find semblance, I don’t think I can write enough to fill two whole pages…” And that was the truth… Blake never did find semblance that fascinating.

Ruby nodded, her brows perking up at the mention of semblance. The small leader found it quite interesting, along with weaponry! Of course the girl could help her with her something like that! She could ramble on and on about how awesome semblances were, and how no two semblances were alike. There were different categories and different types that fit into those categories. Ruby babbled on and on about semblances until the small leader finally caught herself doing so.

Her face flushed as she looked down at her lap with a nervous smile. She hadn’t meant to drag on. “O-Oh sorry...Uh...did you get all that?”

“I don’t accept charity.” She hissed, the aggressive front lost whilst she was sipping her drink. “I can get the money on my own.” It would only take her three or four jobs to raise enough and whilst the money on this Rose’s head would have been nice, she wasn’t going to push her luck. If she had to, she’d just kill anyone coming to claim the money too.

Blake was going to make sure Yang got a long lecture on not picking fights with men twice her bloody size after all this. She let out a huff and rubbed the bridge of her nose, “My friend seems to have a disposition where she picks fights with absolutely everyone. This isn’t a first nor a last.”

The girl only tilted her head before letting out a giggle. “Pft. It’s not charity. It’s more of a favour! I got so much Lien, I don’t know what to do with it! So I need it off my hands~!” Ruby smiled brightly before pulling out some bills and holding it out. Blake had piqued her interest, and in that, the girl was genuinely trying to be nice.

“Just take it! I don’t need it!”

“Try telling them that. I believe it took me promising that I would not take my eyes off you for a second as well as calling them if you needed absolutely anything to get them to go.” Blake rolled her eyes with a slight chuckle. “However, I believe you’re capable of remaining out of trouble for an evening without me around… Though you do seem to be a magnet for it.” Blake purred softly, giving Ruby’s hair a light tussle. She didn’t see the point in treating her much different to before, it would only further distress her if anything.

“Homework?” Blake blinked, “Uh… I don’t think Weiss mentioned anything about homework…” She had practically covered that aspect of things and Blake was very much in the dark. “If you wish though, you can help me with mine? I’ve neglected most of it up until now and my note taking skills are not the best…” Well, that wasn’t true but she didn’t mind writing her homework out twice for the sake of keeping Ruby at peace.

Ruby laughed a bit at the light tussle, glad to see that something hadn’t changed. The girl seemed to relax a bit more as she smiled in the Faunus’s general direction. Weiss and Yang were just so worried and the help was appreciated but...sometimes it felt like a bit too much.

At the offer of helping Blake with her homework, Ruby laughed a bit before scratching the back of her head. She wasn’t sure how helpful she would be...seeing that for her to keep up, Ruby would pull all nighters to get the material. But a nod left the girl as she straightened herself up. Who was she to deny her teammates help?!

“I’ll do my best!”
