Do you think they did this because they were born evil? They’ve become like this because they can get away with it. They know people will turn a blind eye. If one person keeps his or her eyes open and speaks up, this can change.

❝ Do you think I care if Aslan dooms me to death? That would be nothing, nothing at all. Would it not be better to be dead than to have this horrible fear that Aslan has come and is not like the Aslan we have believed in and longed for? It is as if the sun rose one day and were a black sun.❞

It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.

Something a little heart breaking
The Pevensie siblings were Narnian legend, right?
Their names would probably be used a lot.
Like “By Aslan and by High King Peter, we will not let these people destroy Narnia.”
“Your grace and wisdom makes you a warrior, for Queen Susan was the Gentle yet her bow never missed.”
“Your judgement is sound. The land of Narnia has remained good and fair, it remains the land of King Edmund the just.”
“You are valiant, dear sir, and your actions on the field of battle today make you worthy of the word as was the Queen who bore the title before you.”
And when they were sworn into Narnia’s National Guard, the oath was still “I swear, upon the great Lion, and on these 4 rulers of this illustrious Kingdom. I swear to give my life and my blood for Narnia and for its kings and queens. Let Aslan bear witness as I give my oath of loyalty to the High King and to Narnia.”
Do you think the Pevensie’s could tell when a Narnian took their name? A twinge, a burst of love, a short sense of power.
A sign that Narnia remembers them, even if they don’t realize that that’s what it is.
And they get less and less as time progresses.
Narnia remembered them. But Narnia forgot.
To lighten this up…can you imagine by Caspian’s time, their names were basically swears and idioms. And the pevensies were kinda disoriented by them.
“By Queen Susan’s Horn, I thought I saw my sword somewhere here!”
“For King Peter’s sake, please stop that.”
“Well for Pete®’s sake…”
Omg
Yesssss! And during VotDT the crew of the Dawn Treader use these regularly. And the first time Ed and Lucy hear them… “Caspian? Why are people swearing on us?” “You’re legendary!” “It’s weird!” And when he’s talking to Edmund one time… “By King Edmund the Just, Ed… Oh, yeah, that’s weird.” “See!?”
