This will be the first Thanksgiving dinner I make that a) doesn't take me three days to prepare and b) doesn't cost me half a paycheck! I'm equal parts excited and disappointed that I just wasn't up for a big production this year.
I'm breaking my golden rule and cutting the corner; I'm not making anything from scratch. Here's my list for this year:
2 organic whole wheat pie crusts $4.89
2 cans organic pumpkin $5
Organic pumpkin pie spice $3.50
Sweetened condensed milk $2.49
All natural turkey breasts $8
Organic bagged stuffing $6 (for two!)
Two 16oz boxes organic cranberry sauce $6
Few lbs of sweet potatoes (just gonna mash 'em and sprinkle 'em with cinnamon) $4
Finally, Adrien's making a macaroni and cheese casserole, but since that's pretty much his baby, I didn't price that.
Now THAT'S how you do Thanksgiving! Super inexpensive (just under $40, in fact) and it'll be super tasty.
Happy Thanksgiving, bloggie friends!
