a brief indian/second summer day (brilliant sunshine & 34C/94F by noon, but rain is coming for the next few days), with much brown-hooded kingfisher, (african/eastern) black-headed oriole, & now fiery-necked nightjar (+mozzie) activity.

red-faced mousebird in the garden again today (sparse in this region compared to speckled)...
& in the wee hours, something agitated the flock of egyptian geese that roosts nearby...which, if it can perturb egyptian geese (that routinely scare off large raptors for arboreal nesting sites), that thing had to be...pretty serious (considering larger predators like caracal, leopard, & otters are in the area!).
