Sembreak 2016

My sembreak just ended which means that school aka hell has begun once again. If I were to describe how my sembreak went, I would say it was very eventful. I went out a lot, had some family bonding, went to parties and of course, I ate a lot as well. Time to look back at all the wonderful memories I made in sembreak 2016.

October 26, 2016 (Wednesday)

After school, my friends and I went to this little cafe called Fudge. A much needed catch up with them and some dessert is what the start of my sembreak consisted of.

October 27, 2016 (Thursday)

My family attended the wedding of the daughter of my mom’s friend. The wedding ceremony was held at the San Pedro Calungsod Chapel. It was my first time there and the chapel’s architecture and interior had the perfect blend of modern and traditional. The wedding reception was at Radisson Blu Hotel. The food was delicious and the decors as you can see from the photo above were so pretty.

October 29, 2016 (Saturday)

Me, my brother and my cousin watched Doctor Strange and the movie was really good. It was quite different from the other Marvel films that I’ve seen but it’s uniqueness made me like the film even more. I suggest staying in the cinema for awhile when the movie ends because there are two more extra clips!!

October 30, 2016 (Sunday)

This day I went shopping with my family in the afternoon and an unfortunate event happened in the mall. The sole of one of my sandals took out so I had to buy slippers to replace them hahaha. At night, I had dinner with my dad’s side in my angkong’s house then spent the rest of the night hanging out at Starbucks with my cousins.

October 31, 2016 (Monday)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE!! While everyone spent their Halloween trick or treating and going to Halloween parties, I spent my Halloween preparing and having fun at my cousin’s advanced 18th birthday party (he’s the one in purple, btw). 

November 1, 2016 (Tuesday)

On November 1, I spent most of my time in the cemetery visiting my lolo and bonded with my mom’s side. Seeing a lot of families gather to visit their deceased loved ones and bond with one another just gives me this happy and heartwarming feeling inside haha idk but all in all it was a great day. Highlight of the day: Eating Adobong Pusit for dinner :D

November 5, 2016 (Saturday)

The sembreak ender would be attending my friend, April’s 18th birthday party aka debut. I’ve been to a couple of debuts before but this is the first time I attended a debut of one of my close friends.I got to reunite and bond with my old classmates, I was part of the 18 candles, ate delicious food, took pictures, etc. All in all it was a very fun night. Sembreak 2016 was a great one and I hope you all had great sembreaks too! 

Taiwan Trip 2016 Photo Diary

The reason I’ve been so MIA on my blog lately is because I’ve lost my motivation to blog huhu nonetheless, I’m back with a travel post from my trip to Taiwan last summer!! My school is known to have lots of summer programs for its students. There was one program that caught my eye though and that was the Ateneo Hearter’s Adventure (AHA) in Taiwan. It was a two week trip away from my family in a totally different country with people I don’t know. I was quite anxious at first because I had to stay with a host family and be responsible of my things & myself. I was quite lucky that one of my host sisters spoke and understood English well so communicating with them was not so hard. My host family treated me as their own which made me not miss home too much. My classmates in Taiwan were the nicest people. They toured me and Maxine to different places around Taiwan and let us do things we did not normally do at home.

Looking back at these moments, I wish our trip was longer but I know that good things must come to an end. I know though that this wont be the last. I will see you soon, Taiwan. ‘Till next time :) Btw, Maxine and I made a travel diary of our trip in Taiwan so you can check that out here. 

My Brother’s 8th Birthday Party

My brother finally got the chance to spend his birthday with his friends and I am so happy for him. It was really hard to gather his friends before because his birthday usually happens during sembreak and on breaks it’s quite difficult to communicate some of classmates. Because of our early planning, we were able to gather them for my brother’s 8th birthday. I know he had a blast playing Laser Tag with his friends. There were a lot of food so I know he enjoyed that too.

The 52 Week Challenge

My teacher gave me an idea to start the 52 Week Challenge. What is the 52 Week Challenge you may ask? It's a challenge where in you have to put money in a jar for 52 weeks and for every week, you could increase the amount you put in or not . For example, for my first week I start with a big amount like Php 100 then next week I'll put in Php 20. The week after that, I'll increase by ten or twenty or not increase at all. It's all up to you. I thought it was a really cool idea because at this point, I want to be able to buy things for myself and not depend on my parents. Are you willing to start this challenge? :)

My handwriting is very big and wide. I can’t write properly if there are no lines as what you can see from above so notebooks with lines are my best friends. Many prefer writing in print but I prefer writing in cursive.

Monthly Youtuber Favorites

1. Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil

I thought it would be more accurate if I placed these two together. If you watch their videos like I do, you’ll know what I mean. These guys are BBF’s and the make videos about anything they want from challenges, expressing their opinions on certain topics, gaming, vlogs, etc. They remind me of of my cousin and I (hi Max) because they’re partners in everything like max and I. They’re very fun to watch and I never get bored from watching their videos.

2. Jacksgap

I am actually very shocked how these 2 have the face yet they still put a lot of effort in their videos. There are a lot of youtubers out there who are very good looking but their videos are crap sorry. I don’t want to name names for them not to feel degraded. Their adventures are simply my GOALS in life. When I watch their videos, I feel like I’m part of the adventure too. Tbh, I can’t recognize which one is jack and which one is Finn because they really look the same in my eyes but now that Jack grew his hair longer, now I can tell. 

3. Will Darbyshire

Will is also one of those who have the face yet he puts a lot of effort in his videos. His videos aren’t like the rest. He likes to put a twist in them which is good because different is better, right? He is my youtuber crush and I wish I was Arden. He is also very good friends with Jacksgap and they adventure together. One example would be The Rickshaw Run. 

4. SACCONEJOLYs

I dsicovered the Sacconejolys because of Sprinkleofglitter. I was watching her Disneyland vlogs and the Sacconejolys happened to be with her and family. I got really addicted to their videos. Their channel is like a reality show minus the interviews. They take you on their little adventures of their daily lives and it is really fun and addicting to watch.

Cookie Dream : A Restaurant Review

Hello everyone, Rikka here. My cousin has been telling me about this cookie sandwich restaurant that he wants to try out. Luckily, this restaurant was in the same area as us so we grabbed the opportunity to try it out.

The first thing you’ll do is to pick which cookie you want. You can choose two flavors or just have the same for the top or bottom. They give free samples of the cookies available which is a good thing.

After picking your cookies, it’s time to pick your ice cream. They have a variety of flavors for you to choose so choose wisely.

Tada!! the ice cream sandwich is complete. I picked an Oreo cheescake cookie and a chocolate chip cookie and for the ice cream, cookies and cream. Can you tell that I love Oreo? My cousin picked a half and half cookies (half chocolate, half chocolate chip) and a chocolate chip cookie and his ice cream was almond fudge something, I forgot.

You can also add toppings but you have to add 20 pesos for that. As you can see from the picture before the one above, we did not add toppings. 

Here is a pic of the steps to help you out in your Cookie Dream adventure. The branch we went to was the SM Mall of Asia one. I’m not sure if there are other branches but you can search. 

I enjoyed eating my ice cream sandwich but it was not the best ice cream sandwich that I tasted. They sell it for 98 pesos, btw and I gotta say it’s worth the price because it’s really big and you’ll be full from eating it. Hope you try it out some day :)

I'd like to start this post by saying Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there! I agree that Mothers sacrifice more than other people and they do this for the better of their family. Spent this day by going to mass then had an early dinner at Yakimix. I hate how I'm not spending this day with my mom tho but I know that she has a great day nonetheless.

I've got a lot of posts coming your way but I can't seem to post it because the only gadget that is available to me is my phone. I thought it would make blogging easier but not at all. I'm struggling hahaha. I'm going back to Cebu on Monday so we'll see from there. I'll leave you with photo posts now and lengthy text posts when I get back.

Giving myself a pat at the back for buying something using my own money. I felt very accomplished because this is the first item I bought without my parent’s help.
