”You look lost dude. Are you lost?”

               "That depends, am I not in Papen County anymore? Because if not, then yes: I'm lost."

           “A little bit. Okay, maybe I am lost. I didn’t expect to stumble in a pie shop of all places. Where am I  — exactly?”

               “Papen County. In the Pie Hole specifically. We serve pie.”

      ❝ ——- okay it might’ve been me. ❞

               "You broke my rolling pin! That was my only one."

               "How does someone even break a rolling pin?"

        sven canted his head off to the side, chestnut coloured hair shifting from the right to left. sea blue eyes studied the pie maker’s face before he spoke softly, Swedish accent making his voice a bit lilted. “You could have living company — like, actually living company, not — on-loan-living company.”

               He gave a wide eyed stare, blinking one, two, three times in rapid succession before responding. “Olive accidentally pushed me when I was going to touch you a second time after I brought you back to life. I was just supposed to ask you some questions. But a minute was up, so I couldn’t just kill you. Then there would be two dead people. And that’s not necessary.” All the words came out fast and fell from his lips without faltering. At the end of the word vomit he pulled a large breath inward and let it out in a heavy sigh.

          ❝ Do you take orders? ❞ She looked up           from the menu she’d been flipping through           previously, an eyebrow raised. Her stepmother           was having lunch with some friends of hers           tomorrow, and she felt like having pie on           the menu.  ❝ Because if so, do you have           any recommendations as to what I should get? ❞

                "I pay someone to do that — but she seems to be missing,” a quick flick of his eyes across the eating establishment confirms his suspicion. “The Triple Berry is a favorite. I prefer cherry, but I’m usually not apart of the majority.”

❝Let’s reconcile for a second          Hi, I’m Leah. I like vodka, &tobacco products. What I don’t like? People. Especially people who talk to me about their feelings. Suck it up and quit being so whiny. ❞

               ”I’m sorry, I either divulge too much information or not enough, there’s no in-between. It’s a problem; ask my past girlfriends. Actually that’s a bad idea, don’t do that. I’m Ned, I make pies.”

              ❝ Not entirely! There’s just some nuts… I’m not really a fan of nuts though… But aside from that, it’s splendid… ❞

               "How can you not like the nuts? They’re the icing on the cake; the pièce de résistance. The nuts are the best part.”

               "What do you mean you 'don't like the pie’?”

"No wait," she insisted, looking around the room as she tried to think, before focusing back on the man. "I think your name is Tom, but I know I’m wrong….. pies! Do you make pies?"

               "You’re right, I’m not Tom — I’m Ned. Pies. Yes, I make pies. Have you had my pies before?”

               "You haven't put your fork down in the past twenty minutes, I think that constitutes as stress eating. Why are you stress eating?"
