I hit a milestone a little while ago and spontaneously remembered that I meant to do something for the astounding number. I never would have fathomed this poor planet-eating antihero of mine would have gotten sixty followers, let alone over a thousand of them (and then another hundred, I’m so flabbergasted and abashed hfkdjsa) and I’ve had an immense amount of fun playing Kohahahaha, making tons of friends along the way and meeting amazing, talented, extremely nice people whilst doing what I love to do.
I’m not going to do anything overly special for this—since I’m planning on saving that for an extremely big number—but honestly, if you’ve breathed in my direction, dropped by my askbox on random occasions, sent a meme during one of the rare times I reblog them or simply let me know that you appreciate my work, interacted with me in character or out of character, this is for you! If you’ve made my dash a happier place, filled it with sentiments of encouragement, riveting role plays, just had a copious amount of fun and spread joy with each keystroke, this is definitely for you. To all those with inordinate swag who have stuck around to see both myself and my muse blossom (LOOK AT THAT GRAPHIC I did it all by myself I am supreme garbage at making graphics, QUEEN TRASH hfdkjsa), I appreciate you immensely, and to all those who have left to find bigger and greater things, I wish you well on your endeavors! Now, without further ado—!

"Things' been too quiet." Words leaving Aoi's lips were but a mutter, a sigh following them. He hadn't had time to get bored, days spent working for Crash Key, to fulfill their ambitions were far from dull and yet it seemed a routine, one he started to grow tired of, wishing for something, anything to break it in some way. Even getting attacked by Free the Soul seemed better than the lingering feeling of boredom that threatened to overwhelm him at this very moment, a thought he tried to repress however for such a predicament was far from a desired one.
"Oh! No, no special process. I really just keep them watered, it’s simple enough," Luna explained. "The room itself takes care of most everything."
She followed him over to the door. While it no longer said ‘LOCK’, its purpose was pretty clear, given the keyhole beneath the panel. She stood back a ways, a clear observer, and smiled.
"Yes, that’s it," Luna confirmed, smoothing her skirt absently.
She watched him continue to mumble to himself. It was pretty clear to see how excited Aoi was about solving the puzzle, and by himself. Luna didn’t particularly mind, since she already knew the answers. It wouldn’t be any fun that way, puzzles were always better when you didn’t know the answer. Luna snuck a subtle glance towards the waterfall as she thought, but then turned back to Aoi when he crouched in front of the safe.
"There’s a safe like that in every room, that holds the room’s key," she offered. "Although… Not everyone knows this, but Dr. Klim’s built two passwords into every safe. There’s a, um… A bonus, I guess you could say. They were extra files to test himself— er, Sigma, that is. Just background information, nothing important. But… It’s a fun challenge."
During the game itself, Luna had seen a couple people get the bonus password first, actually. It was always a little funny to see them so confused, having opened the safe but not found the key. Luna had felt like it was a secret little joke between her and Dr. Klim, since she had helped him place the files.
"I see." While Aoi's tone was neutral, no particular emotion passing on his features, he couldn't help but be slightly disappointed at the lack of specifics, the process being all too simple to keep even a bit of his interest, immediately dropping the subject to focus on a more entertaining challenge: solving this room's puzzle.
"Alright." Despite the confirmation having been useless, Luna's words were welcome, helping making certain he was right on track. However, azure hues had averted from their inspection upon hearing the detailed explanation about the safe, attention fully focussed on the GOLEM as the information was a very interesting one. "I see, so I need to find both passwords." It may have not been a necessity to solve the room's puzzle, Aoi refused to stick to solely getting the door key if there was more to find. "Thanks for the info." He gave Luna a small nod before raising from his position near the ground, determined to find both codes to the safe he had to open, pleased but also excited at the prospect of a challenge, the corners of his lips curling up higher than they normally would, the white-haired man hardly bothering to conceal the feelings on his features for a short moment.
His face soon recovered its usual expression as he concentrated, starting a throughout search of the area starting by the tree on his right. While the sole mushroom growing in its shade was kinda obvious, most likely a part of the puzzle or at least an indicator, it didn't look like removing it from its place would reveal anything of interest, deciding to focus his attention on yet other areas of the garden for the time being. He approached the waterfall once again, grabbing the metal shaft placed on the bench next to it, putting it in the pocket of his pants. "Looks like I'm gonna need that." He commented, supposing the object to be useless by itself, most likely one to be combined with yet another one as it looked like the part of a wrench. Though he had yet to explore the whole garden, he wouldn't be surprised if it was a component of the item needed for the panel next to the entrance, still having to find the circular indentation fitting the shape however if his guess was correct.
Approaching the waterfall, he attempted looking through it... in vain as the water currents were all too strong, averting his attention to the panel next to it. He tried all the buttons from left to right, then from right to left, nothing changing. Letting out a sigh, Aoi stood in front of the console, crossing his arms, pondering its use and workings. "Looks like you need a particular order to make it work, huh? I'll go back to it later." That was the only conclusion he reached, not being able to believe in the uselessness of the machine, particularly one as obviously placed in the room. However, it seemed this part of the puzzle was one he couldn't solve yet, deciding to keep up with his search for the time being.
The shred next to the console held yet another item that he supposed may come in handy: a shovel, even though he wasn't certain of the purpose it served. He took it in hand nonetheless, having a close look at his surroundings once again, guessing that a hint probably was to be found under earth for he could think of no other use of this item. He was about to be in his way when, from the corner of his eyes, he distinguished a small object on the ground, nearly hidden in the darkness of the shred, solely the reflection of metal signalling him of its presence. "A key?" He had almost missed this detail, taking the item in hand before shoving it in his pocket. "I guess it'll be helpful."
"The room is quite big for the puzzle." Aoi couldn't help but comment as it was larger, the hints seeming more hidden, the puzzle a bit more complex than the ones in the Gigantic from what he had seen so far. He didn't mind however, the challenge being a good one. "Are all the rooms like that?" He had seen the lounge, not one with a seemingly complex puzzle for the area was small and yet was curious as it only was the second room of Rhizome-9 he had seen.

Ah, Sharuhodou was quite satisfied in seeing Aoi squirm like that due to the poison. That’d serve him for being so smug about the whole thing. Such hypocritical individuals like him, who thought their treacherous ways would actually bring good to the world, were the ones who boiled his insides the most.
This time, the Shadow was able to dodge all of Swift Strike’s hits, most likely due to the white haired man’s weakened condition. Feeling confident on his power now, he approached Aoi and raised one of his claws to hit Aoi with them.
"Tch." Upon seeing that his weakened state had lowered the accuracy of his attacks, Aoi couldn't help but scoff, features displaying nothing but irritation at his Persona's missed blows. Though it took most of what little strength he had remaining to get up, he was certain that yet another attack would come soon, one he would never able to avoid while sitting on the ground, forcing himself on his feet. Despite the pain his whole body was in, feeling weaker and weaker at each passing seconds, closing his eyes for a short moment, taking a deep breath, was enough for him to regain a bit of his focus, his vision clearer than it had been moments ago.
"Masukukaja." The white-haired man knew his agility may not have been at his best right now, his physical condition being anything but mediocre, still feeling the effects of the poison in his blood, if his physical attacks refused to land, he was at least willing to attempt at avoiding the shadow's blows, using his Persona's magic to boost his dexterity even if only a bit. However, his legs still were trembling, his brain and reflexes slower that they would usually be, only allowing him to notice the claws approaching him at the last minute. It had nonetheless been enough for him to step to the side, the nails only grazing his right arm, tearing the skin in but a superficial wound however. Aoi believed proximity to be at his advantage nonetheless, aiming his left fist at the shadow's face upon dodging his attack, ignoring the pain coming from the light wound he had been inflicted seconds ago.
((Looks like I can get away with Akihiko from Persona 3 as my child/teenager Aoi faceclaim. They have the exact same haircut, almost the same hair colour and their features aren't too different.))
((Here have teenager Aoi for comparison.))
Military AU // mitsubaaoi
Alice paced in the boardroom, glancing at her temporary partner out of the corner of her eye. He looked capable enough — strong arms, guarded expression, a professional — and she didn’t doubt his qualifications, but there was definitely something about him that she doubted. Still, she couldn’t put her finger on what, and their mission was more important than her paranoia. If something happened, she could deal with it on the fly. She smoothed her expression over and began to speak.
"It’ll just be the two of us. This is a rescue mission, not an attack, and the general doesn’t want to risk any more people than we have to. We need to get in, rescue our soldier, and get out. With as little contact with enemy forces as possible. Understand?" Alice asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
As much as this new guy — Kurashiki, that was his name — unnerved her, Alice was still of a higher rank. Still, at least in technical terms, in charge. And she would use that to bolster herself, however superficial and vain it might seem. Whatever it took to get the mission done.
"Our target is this storehouse," Alice explained, pointing to a building marked on a map on the wall. "It’s the kind of building that’s normally just weapons storage, but if our intel is correct, that’s where we should find our missing officer. Thankfully, it’s not far inside the enemy compound."
Finished with her instructions, Alice put a hand on her hip and studied the white-haired man across from her.
Aoi's face remained expressionless under the woman's gaze, awaiting for his orders as it was his first mission since enrolling in the military yet one he was certain he could fulfil, even solely by himself. His records may have been falsified, making him a soldier for another country, his experience was not, being the Crash Keys' vice-commander, a militia standing against Free the Soul, a religious sect whose plans were to wipe out humanity from the surface of Earth. However, despite their attempts at avoiding the military in their fight, a few skirmishes had already occurred, making them known of the governmental forces despite their discreet presence. He should have never been there, amongst their indirect enemy camp and yet there were information they needed, information that one could acquire solely while being a part of said organization. His cover was perfect, nothing suspicious to be found to even the best spies.
Hiding surprise from his features upon meeting his team-mate for the mission had taken a bit of his self control, azure hues still widening even though slightly at the sight of the woman. However, as soon as she spoke, her voice confident, Alice being a high ranked officer after all, he had had no doubts of her competency, if anything growing wary of her for he needed to keep his cover at all costs. The white-haired man had intently listened to her as she briefed him, nodding in understanding, crossing his arms as well, sign that he was intently focussed, both on her words and her body language, trying to distinguish even the slightest hint of doubt on her features. He had no proof, Alice not displaying any of it, but he couldn't help but wonder if she was suspecting him, soon putting the thought in a corner of his head as it wasn't the issue at hand at this very moment.
"Understood." A firm affirmation was uttered as the plan was simple enough to comprehend, the main issue most likely being to execute it. "Do you have an estimation of the enemy numbers and where they'll be?" Aoi needed to know, hoping that this wouldn't be information they'd need to gather by themselves on the terrain even though he trusted his abilities to deal with such a mission. "Not far as in how far?" While the storehouse not being right in the middle of enemy territory greatly helped their task, Aoi wasn't as optimistic as to believe it will be simple despite their numbers being limited, a perfect approach to an infiltrating and retrieving mission. "When are we starting and what are the weapons we're allowed?" He was quick to disregard Alice's gaze on him, inquiring about elements she had yet to mention in her short briefing despite having a firm grasp on the situation already. "And who is this soldier we need to rescue?"
"How'd we get in this mess?" (more like: did we fuck up again, kurashiki style?)
Got caught out in the rain
It wasn’t often that the Kurashiki siblings didn’t stay at home, relaxing, enjoying each other’s presences on one of their rare days-off, for once deciding to spend what little time they had in an amusement park for a change of their usual routine. Their day had started well, the sun brightly shining, the park not too crowded, allowing them to try most of the rides they wished to with little wait and it had been a while since Aoi hadn’t have this much fun. Their days may not have been similar, working for the sake of their ambitions being anything but boring, entertainment was more often than not denied by no one but themselves, saving the lives of six billion people being much more important than their own sakes. However, he couldn’t help but wish they had more days like this, to forget, even if only for a short while, their goals and enjoy life.
However, before they knew it, menacing clouds had covered the azure sky and they hadn’t had time to reach a shelter that rain started pouring down on them, soaking them to the bone in mere seconds, a strong gust of wind rendering the use of umbrellas as well as some of the shelters like trees nearby useless. They only had but one remaining option, running to take refuge in one of the few concrete buildings the park had, cramped space already full with people taking cover from the storm in hopes that it may pass soon.
"That sucks. Let’s go home once it stops." Upon reaching the closest shelter they could find, Aoi would almost have wished to be able to go home after this disaster, and yet, their car was too far for them to reach in such a weather. needing for the storm to calm down. He was looking forward to change his soaked clothes nonetheless, wishing nothing more than a long hot shower. At the very least, they hadn’t been cornered by Left clones or stranded in the middle of a snowstorm with no way of contacting anyone this time, their lives not being in danger despite their predicament being… inconvenient and, most of all, irritating.
“How long was I out?”
"Less than an hour…" A scoff left Aoi’s lips, rolling his eyes as he got up from his seat on the ground next to Hongou who had still been unconscious moments ago. He had no watch with him, the woods providing darkness surrounding them making it near impossible to state what time of the day it was, simply making an assumption of how long he had kept watch over the older man. ”Looks like you can’t handle this grandpa.” He couldn’t help but sneer at Hongou who, despite having saved him earlier, was more of a hindrance than a help to his very survival at the moment, especially if he was to pass out for seemingly no reason. ”You’re lucky there were no zombies around or you’d be dead by now.” We’d be dead he had almost uttered though he stopped himself. He might have abandoned the older man were they to be in trouble, he wasn’t as stupid as to believe he could escape these woods on his own with zombies swarming around the place and a sole gun as weapon. "Now get up, we’re not out of this shit-hole yet."

"Did you ever think about the possibility of me dying along with our parents? That would have made your life so much easier." Her statement may sound as though she hated herself, but that wasn’t the case. She was very confident and satisfied with herself; Akane was merely pointing out possibilities.
"Regrets about following me everywhere. I’m not saying I want you to abandon me."
"I’m just claiming that things would be easier for you if you did — and in turn harder for me."
"No I didn't. You didn't die with them so why would I think of it?" Those what ifs were pointless to Aoi, solely reality as well as concrete ways of dealing with it mattering to him. A sigh left his lips upon hearing of her following words, not being pleased with the direction this discussion was taking the least. "Easier yes, better not really." He couldn't bring himself to imagine what his life could have been, left on his own at the age of eight, being certain that he could have easily handled it knowing how he had been able to keep Akane by his side, providing her for the childhood he had lost and yet not believing he would have been happier all alone in the world.
"Following you everywhere? Like not helping you organize the Nonary and the AB game?" He couldn't help but inquire as her words had been vague at best even though that's how he understood them, unsure what else she may have been referring to. "I could help you so I did? I had no reason to let you handle everything on your own." Nor did he wish to, the task being way too arduous for solely Akane to undertake, even the both of them struggling despite their respective skills as well as the numerous subordinates working for them. "I'm sure you could have done it by yourself but it was better this way."
She wasn’t really sure how she felt about him after what he had done, but the words had already slipped out of her mouth. There was no turning back now.
"Santa, uh, I mean Aoi… I never even knew you before the second nonary game… Why did I have to be involved in that horrible game again? Was it because my brother stuck with you when you went back for your sister? So you decided to throw both him and me back into this nightmare?" Her words were jumbled together and her thoughts were completely disoriented. But that’s what this kind of conversation did do her.
"We would have been so much better if my brother and I had never known you in the first place…" The pinkette looked at the ground sadly, hoping he hadn’t noticed the tears forming at the corners of her eyes.
Upon meeting Clover once again, an unforeseen occurrence as they had merely stumbled upon the other out of sheer luck, Aoi may have expected an awkward discussion, the girl solely knowing him from the Nonary Game as one of those who had organized it no less, their last encounter having been... not much of an amicable one. However, the immediate confession took him aback, words that it seemed she may have pondered ever since their last meeting, perhaps in an attempt at comprehending why those who had been Zero had chosen the Field siblings, blaming the ones responsible for their sufferings most likely soothing her mind as well.
He intently listened, azure hues gazing down at the shorter girl, no emotion passing on his features. However, despite the façade he wished to keep, his lips slightly pursed upon hearing mention of Light, of the time he had stood by his side in hopes to save his sister nine years back. There was much he owed the blind man, too much for one who had lived solely for himself and his sister from the youngest age, much more than he would have wished to ever owe anyone during whatever little time may have remained of his life. If it had been a possibility, he would have wished to spare Light and his sister of this fate. However, he had had but a sole goal: making certain his sister survived, the thought and feelings toward innocents may have died (and had died in several timelines) being irrelevant to his duty.
"Both you and Light were involved because we needed you to save Akane." Aoi repeated the exact same argument he had given them back in the incinerator room of Building Q, not adding more details as those were none of Clover's business. "Yes, that's right." He nodded to her, acquiescing to her statement, his features remaining composed, even as he took in every bits of the desperation overtaking her as she kept on. "If we hadn't known each other, the second Nonary Game would have never happened." It would have been for the best, no children abducted for experiments, to play a game where their lives had been in constant danger for nine hours, his sister never ending up inside this incinerator that almost put an end to her life either. "But if I hadn't known you or Light, I could never have saved my sister. Thank you Clover."
"I wonder if you say that just for me or because you don’t know what your life could have been like." She had heard it time and time again; Aoi had no regrets, he was happy, he would do whatever it took, he wouldn’t leave her— Akane was honestly getting sick and tired of it. Her brother had nothing to compare life to, for he didn’t share her experience with the fields. He was just saying it because he loved her, because he felt the brotherly need to protect and be with his little sister. But that wasn’t the truth. She didn’t need protection — all she needed were the means to accomplish her goal. Then they could be happy, couldn’t they?
"You will have regrets one day. I’m sure."
"How my life could have been like? If we hadn't been abducted for the first Nonary game or if our parents hadn't died?" While he was in no mood for dealing with his sister's all-knowing attitude, Aoi's voice was calm, none of the irritation her words brought him showing on his features or tone. He may not have lived through all the timelines Akane had, he couldn't help but wonder if she realized how his own life had drastically changed long before the little girl she used to be nearly got incinerated inside the Gigantic, life that he already had, at the time, fully dedicated to little sister.
"Regrets about what? Not abandoning you when our parents died? Not dropping you at the nearest orphanage when I entered a private school? Letting you die in the Gigantic? Don't be ridiculous Akane! If I have regrets one day, they won't be about raising you or staying here until now." He may have loathed disclosing his inner feelings, even to the brunette, he knew all too well of her manipulative techniques and refused to let her get the upper hand in this argument, his previous words having been nothing but the truth, regardless of how Akane may have felt about them. "What did you want? Me abandoning you?"
“I don’t need you to treat me like a baby.” [just one this time omg!]
"I know." Aoi might have been aware of his all too precautious nature when it came to his sister, it hardly stopped him from being concerned, more-so when he had removed a bullet from Akane's leg minutes before as well as tended to several cuts she had sustained. "But you're injured." He hadn't even needed to inquire about the cause of her wounds when the brunette had appeared at the door earlier, simply rushing to her, carrying her to her room where he treated her, silently cursing Free the Soul and their more forceful methods as of late to get rid of the Crash Keys. "I'll find a way to get them out of the way." Despite his features remaining calm, an underlying enmity could be heard in his voice as he didn't mind getting injured himself but would never accept his sister suffering in the same way so long as he still was here to watch over her. "Now rest, you need to recover." Lips found her forehead before he gently pushed her to lie down, giving her a gentle smile as he put a cover over her.
