VARIETY 500: Lawrence needed just a few years to rise from ingenue to one of the biggest movie stars of her generation. Since hitting the bull’s-eye with a lead in the blockbuster “Hunger Games” franchise, Lawrence’s star power remains undiminished, and she proved her clout by becoming the rare actress to command a $20 million upfront, for Sony’s “Passengers.” She went scary in 2017 with Darren Aronofsky’s psychological horror film, “Mother!” then segued to action with the CIA drama “Red Sparrow.” In 2019, she’ll wrap her starring role in the “X-Men” mega-franchise with “Dark Phoenix.” Lawrence has been nominated for four Academy Awards, starting with her breakout role at 20 in 2010’s “Winter’s Bone” and nabbing best actress two years later for “Silver Linings Playbook.”
