I tried to write it down but I could never find a pen, I’d give anything to hear you say it one more time, that the universe was made just to be seen by my eyes
Jack Vessalius
The Hebrew word translated “Lucifer” is helel (or heylel), from the root, hâlâl, meaning “to shine” or “to bear light.”

Throws a ball in Jack's honor, a masquerade, and only stays by his side the whole night through... which will end with lots of birthday sex of course.
An entire ball in honor of the valet. A servant. Although maybe of closer association to his master, he was still just a servant. Crazy and hilarious, but the other was always fond of social gatherings, and it’s doubtful the guests even care as much as to ask why even was this party organised in the first place.
What mattered to him the most was the fact that something was different this time. Usually his Master was all over the place and paying attention to everybody except Jack, and this time it was all the other way around, and it was a good feeling, to not fear being shunned aside for once. The blond wouldn’t stand being thrown away, separated from the other forever, and although they shared bond most bizarre, the viscount was a capricious man, and Jack still wasn’t able to look through him, but at the same time it was what made him attached to the other.
The valet was grateful for that, but the gift he got after the gathering ended was the one that he cherished the most.

Happy birthday, Jack Vessalius

Buys him a globe. Sets it on fire in front of him. "It's a knock-off, but something to ease the boredom?"
A symbolic gesture he very much so appreciated. It wouldn’t heal him, but the awareness that there was someone who remembered, and who knows what resides in Jack’s head, and yet still remains beside him was a concept he couldn’t understand, but he clung to that with all of himself. It was something that was able to bring him at least a short while of peace, and he was grateful to the mage, even though he couldn’t find the expression or words, which wouldn’t sound fake. His entire being was fake, so he limited to something simple, yet speaking a lot.
“Thank you, Miss Minerva.”
Honestly, the best birthday present for him would be to watch the world burn.
Since you came into my life, I didn’t need friends or status anymore. I only need…To have you by my side…
Here’s a combo Lacie (17/01) and Jack (19/01) birthday / Jacie edit because I didn’t really want to make two separate edits since their birthdays are two days apart.

“Like I’d miss lice.” Cue a sigh. “Where were you, anyways? I thought you’d finally taken the hint and stopped bothering Master Glen.”
“Well, what does it matter where I was?” A pause followed by an overdramatic gasp. “Unless it does matter to you what I’m doing, when I’m not here. The thought of you caring about me so much warms my heart, dear. If I knew, I’d definitely find more time especially for you.”
There was no more words to say to the woman even if she kept complaining. The call was cut and the cellphone was left on the counter, a smile on his face as he looked back at his handsome companion. Jack was hard to understand most of the time, being so distant even if they were so close, speaking in mysterious ways about things Vincent couldn’t even understand… but then there were moments like these when the blond was as simple as letting his message be crystal clear.
“Sorry for that, Barbara messed up the files again. Not my problem anymore, for now, I guess. I already told her to fix it or get fired, so it’s not that complicated for her…”
The blond knew he probably would seem too distant for the third person’s eye, but if there was anything he learned up until now from life was that one can rarely expect things going as well as one would like. Although he did attach himself to the other, past experiences dictated, that Jack could still be thrown away at any time, would the other grow bored of him. After all, there is really nothing that he could call his, everything slipping through his hands whenever he tried to grasp onto something solid.
“Well then, if it’s something that occurs constantly, perhaps you should fire her in the end. I hate seeing you so stressed.”
“Oh, joy. Jack is back.”
“Lottie, darling! It’s been a while. Missed me?” A smirk came out on his face as he came closer.
