This call to action is one I hope you won’t ignore. Don’t worry about being the odd one out, make an excuse, and participate. Lives hang in the balance. Honestly, no one takes the BLM movement seriously because we can’t stand to be inconvenienced just a little bit in our “busy lives”. Your busy life won’t matter if it gets taken away tomorrow. There needs to be a change. I hope you’ll be willing to make a sacrifice for 24 hours by at the least not shopping. If we cant be as serious as the Civil Rights Movement, then what the hell are we good for? #missing24 #blacklivesmatter #boycott

4 notes. Seems like folks ignored it. Tumblr didn’t take well 😔

He’s got Hollywood money and can afford to do this. Most of us do not have the ability to just call off near the end of the year.

Excuses sis.

My bills and my boss brother You and Isaiah are welcome to my high as car insurance, car note, and Comcast bills anytime

If we go back to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which lasted for 381 days and was preceded by Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on the bus, then you would understand that it takes a lot of organization and dedication to pull something like that off.

@versacedurag saying ‘excuses sis’, tells me that you don’t understand what a boycott is. At the very least, you should know what the Montgomery Bus Boycott entailed. Do you know what they did during that boycott? They organized carpools, Black cab drivers charged lower fairs, churches helped out and kept people organized. What I’m trying to say is, if your boycott doesn’t take into account fellow marginalized members and does not provide a support structure for them, then it isn’t a very well organized boycott.

Here we have Isaiah Washington, a very wealthy celebrity providing no structure or support for those who don’t have a 2 million dollar net worth and can’t afford to stay home. I’m not impressed by his statement, and you shouldn’t dismiss other Black people who say: I can’t survive if I lost my job.

These kinds of “boycotts” seriously piss me off. A lot of us would want to participate, but life won’t let us. Too many of us are trying to make ends meet and we can’t afford to do any boycotts. Not to mention that NOTHING is ever thought of when it comes to boycotts. You can’t just say: “Let’s just boycott for a day!” and then expect everyone to drop whatever they’re doing and participate when it won’t benefit them. It’s usually these entitled rich ass people that don’t even worry about losing money are the ones telling those that would lose a shit ton of things if they only miss one day of work. Stop telling us that we’re making up excuses to be “tell it to the man” when we’re even struggling to provide for ourselves.

Let your boy get elected, and you start thinking you gon put your hands on me, call me a nigger, say nigga whenever you want, attack me physically or verbally, I will beat the 1/16th Native American out of your ass. Nothing in this world stresses me out more than opening up the Facebook app and seeing an array of my booty pics at the top of the screen asking me if I “wish to post pictures from camera roll” like Mark why did you ever think that was a good idea? I’m gonna fuck around one day and expose my entire self to my family.

For real tho
