Drawing pictures for money and fishing for fun where the muskie run deep and scare the hell out of the ducks.

Kid walking- rotoscoped from film clip.

Back in the day this was done laboriously via a projection system drawn frame by frame onto pegged animation paper. Then it was filmed on an animation stand, film processed, then viewed on a moviola. This took about 3 days.  Now, the same thing is accomplished by simply tracing layers in a pshop file on a Cintiq tablet. Two hours, tops. Technology is quite something if you've experienced both.

Old school animation shoot. Note the art director is sitting next to the client in front of the monitor. Everyone else should be easily identified. Any resemblance to actual people is totally coincidental .

I’ve been working off and on recycling some old favorite pieces into a short animated film. ”Mr Moon’s Wedding” uses some old animation clips and parts from other projects. It’s started a life of it’s own. I’ll get an idea from some archived art, see if it works with the narrative and fill with some motion. It fulfills my OCD twitches. Lots of fun.

This part was a layer in a scene. More to come.
