I don’t know how to say this in a way that doesn’t sound like I’m advocating for casual cruelty or whatever but something that grates so much about this current social moment is how many people are incapable of saying they dislike something or someone without cooking up some higher morally correct reason for their dislike. Sometimes you just disliked a book. Sometimes you don’t “get” an actor or a musician. There’s nothing morally wrong with your girl’s fuckass boyfriend he’s literally just annoying and you’re annoyed that you have to pretend you like him when you know he’ll be history in six months. It’s fine. You don’t need to justify your dislike.
Please feel free to extrapolate from this post that I believe this mentality is not a one-way street: you also should not expect others to have a moral reason for disliking something and you should not get defensive and assume that your character is being attacked when someone dislikes something that you like.
watching a movie at home circa like, 2001 was like
- put your TV on channel 2 so the VCR will work
- open up the clamp shell case that held the VHS that has that satisfying crrlikkkkkk
- put in the movie
- gdi it has to be rewound
- press STOP and then rewind because its so much faster that way
- start the movie and it takes a few seconds for the movie to actually start cause you rewound to the VERY beginning
- FBI will get you if you illegally distribute or exhibit this movie
- and then. because you forgot that movies are always so much louder than TV
COMING SOON TO OWN ON VIDEO AND DVD
- QUICK LOWER THE VOLUME LOWER THE VOLUME LOWER THE VOLUME OH FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Okay crisis averted.
- although. these ads are kind of quiet. a little hard to hear.....
- better turn up the volume...

I have always loved Richard’s “we cannot fight them all” line when talking about the Richmond ghosts because, like, how many ghosts where you willing to fight, Richard?
but if nothing else this latest episode just proved that the small feral French man WAS down to fight those fucking ghosts, he was willing to do violence (arguably against much bigger guys/ghosts than him even when outnumbered), he is feisty. He did the math and THEN decided not to fight them.
So I’m once again asking HOW MANY GHOSTS WAS RICHARD WILLING TO FIGHT?!
