Rules about Submitting Your Own Texts

Since I love to get followers involved, you -yes, if you are reading this, I am referring to you- can submit texts to go onto this blog. However, there are certain terms and conditions.

1. All texts must come from the Texts from Last Night website. This is the entire point of the blog, after all. Any submissions will be checked and any that are not on the website will not go on the blog.

2. Try to preserve all elements from the original text. This includes the area code (the numbers in brackets) and any spelling or grammar errors. After all, these are texts sent by real people and therefore we want to keep all their drunken glory.

3. Keep in mind that not all texts work. Some texts may be funny, but unless I can match them up with an image then I can't submit them. Therefore, if your text is not put on the blog, don't be disheartened: it's because it just wasn't applicable to this particular anime/manga.

4. Try not to repeat texts and, as far as possible, images from earlier on in the blog. I don't expect you to go searching specifically, but repeats of texts will not be submitted unless they are absolutely golden the second time round. Repeats of images may end up on the blog, but I will try to spread them apart.

5. Submitting home-made images is the most convenient way. If you have access to an image program, it is both convenient to me and personal to you if you make the text image yourself - please keep dimensions to a maximum of 280 (height) x 500 (width). If this is not possible, then the best way is to send your text with a link to the image you want used or at the very least some kind of specification (eg. "That scene from the Miss Fairy Tail pageant when Mirajane turned into Gajeel" or "When Cana and Aquarius are arguing on Tenrou Island). The more specific you are, the easier it is for me and the faster your submissions will be up. (Hint: If you are having trouble with reading your text, remember that white with a black outline and vice-versa can be read on any background!)

6. Both anime and mangacaps can be used- however, anime is preferred. Since the manga is ahead in terms of storyline, mangacaps should only be used where the anime has yet to reach (as of now that means any mangacaps should be from the Grand Magic Games arc). If you are using mangacaps, replace speech with text as far as possible, as in the example below. Note that the reading direction is from right to left, as in traditional manga. And don't stress out if your image is watermarked.

Example of a mangacap text:

7. Keep in mind that, depending on the number of submissions/amount of stuff going on in my life, you may have to wait for your text to appear. I will try to be as dedicated and punctual as possible, but I would also appreciate it if you have patience.

8. Have fun!

A Message to All Followers

What would you think if I started using mangacaps as well as anime screencaps? Should I use them in places where applicable (so using mangacaps from the Grand Magic Games arc)? Or would you prefer the consistency of only using shots from the anime? Leave answers in the ask box!
