y'know, one thing i don't see get talked about much in regards to asexuality is how it feels to never be 'sexually motivated' by anything

and not just when it comes to advertisements using 'sexy' models to try and sell you stuff, but like. in general

sex as a favor, sex as a bribe, sex in exchange for whatever

casual sex, 'friends with benefits' situations, even simple flirting

it all looks a whole lot different from the perspective of someone who's immune to manipulation via sex appeal, who has virtually no understanding as to why sex would motivate someone to cheat on their partner, etc. etc.

sex is worthless to me

i mean, it's useful as a story element in fiction, but it genuinely perplexes me that sex is such a driving force behind so many aspects of irl society & of people's individual lives, for better or for worse

and that it's so deeply ingrained into how the average person views the world & various situations, because the average person feels sexual attraction, whereas i do not

i think the barrier between aces & allos is actually even deeper than it seems on the surface at times, because it's more than just the grating expectation that everyone must want to 'settle down' and have kids, it's also the fact that the majority of the world is sort of 'in' on a joke that aces will never truly be a part of

Posts that validate my identity

Sex as a form of intimacy? Understand. Intimacy as enjoyable? Understand. Intimacy as vital? Understand. Sex as vital? Does not compute

I love those attempts at positivity posts that are like I HATE conventionally attractive hot sexy people give me someone with fugly disgusting ugly ass features like a huge ugly nose any day of the week. 🤗

Personally I loooove unconventional ugly features like [describes every ethnic feature possible]

You know putting aside how blatantly racist it is to label these kinds of features “unconventionally attractive” or basically just ugly. it’s also like. You realize these features are actually the majority right? The majority of the world has brown eyes, dark skin, coarse hair. Big lips and big noses are much more common than small. Billions of people are by average short. Hairy as well. Most people aren’t white. This is actual reality these aren’t “unconventional” or “distinct” features at all they’re actually the most common by far

Don’t forget his baby sister, Nawar.

Massacred by western imperialism.

In June 2010, the Center for Constitutional Rights and the American Civil Liberties Union were retained by Nasser Al-Aulaqi, the father of Anwar Al-Aulaqi, to bring a lawsuit in connection with the government’s decision to authorize the killing of his son, a U.S. citizen who had been placed on secret “kill lists” maintained by the CIA and the U.S. military’s covert Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) earlier that year. Shortly thereafter, the Secretary of the Treasury designated Anwar al-Aulaqi a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist,” which made it a crime for lawyers to provide pro bono legal services for his benefit without first seeking a license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).  CCR and the ACLU sought a license, but after the government’s failure to grant one despite the urgency created by the outstanding authorization for Al-Aulaqi’s killing, CCR and the ACLU brought suit challenging the legality and constitutionality of the licensing scheme. The government thereupon provided the license.

In August 2010, CCR and the ACLU filed suit on behalf of Nasser Al-Aulaqi, challenging the government’s decision authorizing the CIA and JSOC to target and kill his son in Yemen. Outside of the context of armed conflict, the Constitution and international human rights treaties the U.S. has ratified prohibit the state from depriving persons of life without due process, except as a last resort to protect against an imminent threat of deadly harm. Anwar Al-Aulaqi was being targeted far from the United States’ war in Afghanistan, and the standing order for his killing flew in the face of the plain meaning of the law’s imminence requirement. The district court in Washington, D.C., dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds, without reaching the merits. This case is part of CCR’s work challenging unlawful drone killings by the United States and other fundamental rights violations being committed in the name of national security.

Date Filed:

August 3, 2010

Current Status

The case was dismissed on December 7, 2010, on standing and because the court ruled that it raised "political questions" not subject to court review. The court did not rule on the merits of the case.

Yeah, note that last thing: the Obama administration’s legal team specifically petitioned the court to dismiss the case on the grounds that nobody has legal standing to sue the US government for a death by drone strike, and the court agreed with this. That is actually a scarier legal precedent than almost anything else in the last 24 years.

Plot twist: the two boys you're choosing between are polyamorous, but they also hate eachother's guts so you still have to pick one

Sorry but watching them fight gets me off, I'm keeping them both in a jar and shaking it up and down every hour.

Oh also I’ve had people say this comic is inaccurate because this is the kind of talk they’d be giving to the board and let me tell you, I was a literal temp worker at a warehouse and I sat through multiple meetings just like this.

this continues to be increasingly relevant and it makes my blood boil

I did contract work in IT before I quit to do freelance art full time so that bit was definitely included from personal experience haha. Glad to see it resonates

The biggest scam your brain is telling you is that everybody else is human and allowed to make mistakes but that you yourself have to be perfect and flawless to deserve their company

im grading final papers and i'm being a literal monster and i am so sorry to the students who are going to get these back, truly i am, but they also deserve it.

NOT to turn this into a rant about ai

but i feel confident that this is ai's fault. that either these students are using it to write their papers or are using it to do their research and like. stop doing that. stop it.

i got into a whole argument with my friend the other day because they were using chatgpt and i loath chatgpt with every fibre of my being it makes me want to eat my own hands. and they were all like

"why, how is this different than googling something?"

AND LIKE. when you google things google provides you with several pages of results, NOW, we all know that the way those results are being presented to us is being curated by google and their bottom line, but regardless, you are given multiple sources of information and YOU have to sort through it and YOU have to make decisions about what sources you're using. there is an element of critical thinking involved here, there is also more transparency in that you see the actual sources of the information you are getting. You are USING YOUR BRAIN.

chatgpt sorts the information for you. IT decides what is relevant. IT thinks critically (usually poorly but he's just a lil robot what can you expect from him it's a big world)

so now i have all these students who do not understand the importance of knowing where sources come from or who wrote them or how you need to use multiple sources to prove a point, now i have students who do not know how to sort through sources, how to make decisions about what is good and what is bad, or just what is useful to them. you don't know how to critically sort information.

it is TERRIFYING. and what is more terrifying to me is how willing so many people are to just hand over the responsibility of the thinking to an algorithm. like all i have is my brain. i swear to god that's it. i don't own property, i don't have fame, or immense talent. BUT I CAN THINK. like i can think. WHY are you giving that away so casually???? I don't GET IT.

I don't get it for school. I don't get it for art. I don't get it!!!!!

i appreciate the attempts a lot of game devs are making with gender neutral character creation, and i appreciate that it's actually a very difficult task to implement that depending on the game's base code. but it's so funny to me when you hear an uproar because some game has "entirely removed the gender option from character creation!!!!!" so you go to check it out and its just like
