The Next Adventure

@herenowtheretomorrow / herenowtheretomorrow.tumblr.com

I went on a crazy adventure for 8 months; now I'm home! Follow my adventures in the generally forgotten city of Adelaide as I get back into the real world and plan my next crazy adventure! Where to next?

Off Again!! First Stop...Vienna

Arrived in Vienna this morning! Spent the morning doing a walking tour of the city, had a giant pretzel for lunch (pretty sure it was twice the size of my face!), wandered round the various Christmas markets and took a selfie with a hot pink rabbit statue! Now I'm off to bed as jet lag still has its firm grip on me :/

Scouting gives young people the capacity to make decisions for themselves… Scouting doesn’t need to be run by adults for kids. It can be run by young people for young people… May the spirit of Scouting live on, after the Jamboree… The extraordinary thing about Scouting is that, while languages may be different, even though the colour of the skin may be different, we are all together. We all promise we do our best. If there is a secret to share, it is that Scouting is a worldwide family. It can work for peace and change the world…. If young people come together on a camp from loads of different nations, when they grow up they will not want to fight each other… Remember sitting around this campfire…use this experience to make the decisions to govern your country (in the future, when you are leaders).

How time flies...

I’ve been home almost three months and what a busy three months it’s been! Now that I’m mostly back into the swing of everyday life this blog’s gonna change a little. Instead of following my amazing adventures overseas you can watch my crazy life at home working two jobs, being a scout leader and a member of the exec for my rover crew while I still attempt to have a social life :P All in the name of getting back overseas again before I decide it’s time to face reality and head to uni!

What are you going to do now that you're back in the land of people who don't tour the world? ;-) Any difficulty getting back into the routine of normal life?

I have no idea when this came! I’m so sorry!!! Soooo.... I’ve been back for almost three months. I’ve had some difficulties getting back to the ‘real’ world’. Went back to my old job which was strange. Now I’m working two jobs, being a scout leader and am now the activities officer for my rover crew so I guess at least I’m not bored! :PIt has been strange coming back home. I think I’m still struggling with some parts of it but it’s mostly been nice being back :)

There’s something about Danish Scouts and fire’s in the snow :P

A regular meeting night for a different group of Danish Scouts :) I ran a game with them (outside in the snow!)

What was the highlight of your night, onegirl-eightcountries ?

Probably running a game with the scouts cause they didn't understand all of my english but they really enjoyed the game :) It was a great way to interact with them which didn't involve language since I don't speak any language and some of the scouts are still young and don't know that much english or were embarrassed to speak in english to me

My last week in Denmark was spent in the town of Sønderborg. Just 30 minutes from the German border meant I got to go to Germany for cheap sweets :D Was lovely to see a different side of Denmark to the business of Copenhagen

Lego Store Copenhagen, Denmark :D

This store is probably most kids (and adults) dream store. If it's a current lego pack they have it here plus key rings, mini figures and a wall of pick 'n' mix lego pieces! Pretty sure they only place cooler is lego land (haven't been there yet although definitely on the list of things to do)

Snow won't stop the Dane's Scouting :D

I visited a Danish Scout I had hosted in Australia as part of a Scout exchange. On the weekend I went on a camp with her and her group. While we were doing activities outside it started to snow and they all continued on as I stood there wondering why no one was going inside!
