“I don’t want you to be hopeful, I want you to feel fear” this girl is 43 levels of metal

If you don’t reblog this you are DEAD to me.

This is Greta Thunberg. She is an activist for comprehensive climate change policies and action. She is a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. She’s 16. She’s remarkable.

Yes indeed!

Remember when Cersei reminded Sansa that in order to be an effective Queen, you have to instill fear? And Sansa was like, love was a surer route to the people’s loyalty than fear.

“If I am ever a queen, I’ll make them love me.”

And look at the people coming to her rescue, to her defense. Because she’s kind, compassionate and loyal. I love that she stayed true to that even after all the hell she went through.

Brienne is so conditioned to expect disrespect. She is conditioned to expect doubt and derision and humiliation. Even from someone like Jaime, because when he speaks with her respectfully, she snaps at him and asks ‘what he’s doing’ because she assumes that it must be some kind of joke or prank. At this point, they have had many respectful conversations with each other but she still just…can’t bring herself to accept that someone, particularly a man, would ever show her any sort of genuine respect that is not motivated by any ulterior motive.

And then, the fucking knighting scene. When Jaime suggests it, at first she laughs. She assumes its a joke. He can’t possibly be serious. But when he doesn’t laugh, she slowly gets up and approaches. You can see her doubt. This is just like that ball where the boys pretended to like her, she thinks. At some point, someone will laugh and say the punchline and she will be humiliated.

But that doesn’t happen. Brienne kneels. Jaime knights her. And all of the men around her stand and genuinely applaud, no jokes at all. And the tears in her eyes are happiness, yes, but also relief because finally, for once in her life, there isn’t a punchline to her joy and she feels genuinely loved. I owe Bryan Cogman, Gwen and Nik my LIFE for this fucking scene.

“However the remaining four episodes go, we’ll always have the memory of Brienne of Tarth kneeling by firelight, having the dream whose name she could never speak fulfilled by the man for whom she felt a love she could never acknowledge.”

Consensual. Healthy. Legal. Good Loving.

People are killing me with the OTT reaction the Arya/Gendry scene. Let me lay down some cold hard facts here:

- Maisie Williams and Joe Dempsie are only 9/10 years apart in age.

- Yes, when they first worked together, she was in her early teens, but as Joe said himself–because he is near-perfection among men and stan-worthy beyond compare:

It’s obviously slightly strange for me because I’ve known Maisie since she was 11, 12 years old. At the same time, I don’t want to be patronizing toward Maisie — she’s a 20-year-old woman. *

- Let’s repeat that again… Maisie Williams was 20 years old when she filmed this scene. Like, she was LITERALLY out of her teens when she filmed this not even at all sexually graphic sex scene.

- Maisie Williams was given COMPLETE agency in how much nudity she wanted to show of herself.

Williams says the showrunners let her decide precisely how much to show. “David and Dan were like: ‘You can show as much or as little as you want…’“ *

- Everyone on set worked to make her comfortable. Maisie was in control.

[Per producer/writer Bryan Cogman] “ We were very careful to make sure Maisie [Williams] was comfortable and everything was on her terms. “ **

- Arya Stark is 18 years old on the show. HBO made sure to make that pretty clear. At least HBO_UK did per this tweet. Note the time and date.

- Arya made the decision to have sex.

- Arya, just like Maisie, was in complete control.

- Oh, and by the way, since Gendry had been a victim of sexual assault himself–because, yeah, Melisandre did rape him–the show also gave him his own agency by specifically having Arya tell him to take off his own damn pants… which he did willingly. Full consent by both parties.

This sex scene was a completely legal, mutual, consensual sexual experience between two characters–played by two perfectly legal (and hot) actors–who were friends first with a foundation built on trust and a strong bond who have a healthy, sexual attraction now that they have reunited as adults.

So pretty please, do kindly get the fuck over it, people.
