New day in old day out. He had barely made it last night for his shift, nearly got his ass fired in the process. It was a damn good thing Killian told Gold to fuck himself, by not doing what he was supposed to do. A small smirk crept up his face at the though of the look on the assholes face when he realized all that precaution wasn’t needed. Don was probably still knocked out cold and sleeping in his room. Nothing to worry about, and as soon as he got to work everything changed.
Killian arrived at work on time today, anxious to see the look on Golds face. He could taste the victory he had won, a last minute victory but victory nonetheless. First things first he should head to the restricted wing to check on the patient. Sliding his card to check in Killian placed on his white coat on top of his scrubs and made his way down the hall.
Something was off as he walked through those halls, something just didn’t seem right. He couldn’t put his finger on it but something wasn’t right. The tone in the air was unsettling and it was making the young intern nervous as he approached the wing.
“Morning Sam I’m here to check on Don” he said checking over his clip board. The expression on the mans face was unsettling, and Killian quickly noticed the yellow police tape across the door. The mans face went pale, you would think he had seen a ghost
“Sorry Mr. Jones you can’t go in there, there under investigation of a crime scene” he told him
“Crime…scene” the interns voice shook, a dangerous thought coming to mind
“Indeed” Sam shook his head.
He had to know, he had to make sure. Throwing all caution into the wind the intern dove for the doors and ran inside to Dons room. It was empty, Don was gone.
Gods no, what had be done, oh Gods no. Please don’t anyone he hurt.
There was an officer in the room Killian had failed to notice who took this moment to speak up. “You what are you doing here?” the man asked him. Killian stood there shaking clutching his clip board trying to remain calm.
“I’m Killian Jones, I was the last one in the wing last night, before what ever happened here…wheres Don?” he asked
The police officer gave him a look of confusion but none the less he spoke to him. “Well son thats not entirely true. Don here was shot by Sam out there, after he attacked one of the members of staff. The security footage is gone, damn bastard cut the power when he escaped his room And unfortunately some poor sap was here observing the patients .” he said
Killian gulped. There was someone else in the wing alone, with a unrestrained serial killer..God have mercy on the poor soul that….please don’t let them be dead.
“They aren’t…they aren’t dead are they?” he asked his voice cracking. The officer sighed. “Well son if old Sam wasn’t out there he would have been. From what he saw the man had his eyes gouged out if head and the killer was attempting to kill him from the inside. He’s alive, but I’m afraid the man will never see again”
The young intern turned pale again, they had no eyes….they…they….were blind. This was his fault, all his fault he should have listened to Gold he should have listened. Gods the man would kill him if he found out this was his fault. Where was Gold? wouldn’t he want to be here for something like this?…….then an awful though struck him…….no no….it was impossible.
“Officer, umm do you know the name of the victim?” he asked his throat dry his hands shaking and his whole body sweating like a thousand summers.
“Of course got his name right here” he said going to look at his notes. “Victims name is one Dr. Gold he up in recovery right now”
And at that Killian fainted…
He awoke later on a cot in the main area of the hospital. The police officer was there standing over him along with several doctors and nurses. “Jones, your awake” came the reply of one Dr. Emma Swan. Killian sat up his head pounding. “What happened?” he said his memory still a bit foggy.
“You fainted son, right after I told you who was attacked by the killer last night” came the reply of the officer. Killian rubbed his head in reply, his memory blanking. “Who did get attacked last night” the intern asked getting up from the bed to his feet.
“It was Gold Killian” Swan told him. And then Killian proceeded to faint yet again, of course Emma caught him. “Oh no you don’t tiger, your not doing that again” he steadied him.
Gold….Gold was blind….he was injured and it was all his fault. Sure he hated the man but Killian wouldn’t wish what happened to him on his worst enemy. He had to go find and…ummm..just find him for now.
“Where is he?” he asked his voice cracking again. “He’s up on the fourth floor, in intense care why do you ask?” Immediately he pushed Emma down to the bed and took off running through the halls.
He made it to the elevator managing to avoid the other doctors and nurses. It was the longest elevator ride of his life if he was being honest, but it finally ended and the intern fled down the hall. Now which room was he in, that was the question.
It didn’t take long for him to find him at the end of the hall. The door was wide open and Gold laid inside. Was he sleeping? Killian couldn’t tell, there were bandages over his eyes. Either way the mans eyes were closed. But from what he herd the man no longer even had them.
Killian slumped inside and sat in the chair on the other side, making sure the door was closed behind him. He placed his face in his hands and let out a huge sigh, good lord what had he done.
