every time i see discourse about pedohysteria amidst a trans genocide i think about that news article from 2016 about the mexican immigrant who voted for trump because trump said he’d get rid of all the “bad hombres” from mexico, only to be deported himself because it turns out what trump was really saying was that he wanted to deport all mexicans, not just “the bad ones”
not just him, but there were many other examples too, like white conservatives who have mexican immigrant friends and family or people in the community important to them who were mexican immigrants, and they voted for trump because they thought trump was just getting rid of “criminals”, and then they regret it when their families and communities get torn apart by deportations of their spouses, their friends, their favourite restaurant owners, etc.
anyways, i hope young queers, trans people esp, understand that when conservatives talk about “pedophiles” and “groomers”, they’re not talking about actual child abusers, they’re talking about all queer people. they’re talking about all trans people. it’s why in florida, they’re categorizing “drag” as a child sex crime, and making sex crimes against children punishable by death. they’re trying to execute every single trans person, and that’s just the rhetoric they’re using
so stop buying into the pedohysteria. it’s easy to think “well, i’m not a pedophile, so i’ll be safe” when you don’t realize that in the eyes of conservatives, every single queer person is a pedophile and deserves death, and contributing to their rhetoric by trying to figure out which trans woman is a pedophile is just accelerating your own march to the gallows

“It’s not too late, y’know. I can still suit up and come with you.”
“Hawks,” Enji regarded him slowly, “we discussed this. There’s four of us, and we need to take turns resting.” He paused to tie the shoelaces on his left boot. “If we’re all burnt out when the time comes, well…”
Keigo sighed. “I know, I know. It’s just frustrating. I hate being in one place for too long, it makes me all jittery.” Keigo rambled, his wings flapping behind him erratically to demonstrate his point. Enji hummed in response, focusing now on the right boot. Hawks sidled next to where he sat on the entryway. “Y’know,” he traced a playful hand along Enji’s broad shoulders, “I’ll just be thinking about you the whole time.” He offered with a sly smile.
“Is that so.” Enji replied. Keigo could hear the cautious, but flirtatious tone as he spoke, not exactly egging him further, but still leaving plenty of room for Keigo to continue. Even though Enji was turned away, Keigo knew that he was almost smiling, too.
“Uh-huh. What’s a poor hero to do when his big, strong, sexy, smoking hot man is out there, saving people all by his lonesome?” Keigo waxed dramatically. Enji could hardly stifle a chuckle.
“I’m sure you’ll find something,” he responded with a fond huff. Enji moved to stand up from the step, turning to regard the winged hero. “But I do want you resting, alright?” He admonished gently. “No going out on your own to stir up trouble.” He asserted, though the younger hero looked away from his piercing gaze with a coy smile. “I mean it, Keigo.” Though his eyes held a stern look, his large, warm hands came to rest upon Keigo’s shoulders. He reached up, sliding his hands up and down Enji’s firm chest, admiring the man’s hero costume.
“Woe is me, forced to eat junk food and play video games all day.” He replied sardonically, but his gaze became soft as he looked up at Enji. For a moment, they stayed like that, existing in a space that was too fleeting. Their eyes connected, expressing the warmth they felt for each other that didn’t need to be spoken, because they both already knew. Then, reaching up on his toes, Keigo leaned up to capture Enji’s lips in a chaste kiss, once, twice, and then again. Enji finally broke away, turning to the door. He looked over his shoulder once before leaving.
“I will be back.” It was a promise.
“I know.” Because Keigo knew it was the truth.

The Narrative Importance of Endeavor's Redemption
Many people feel as though Endeavor's redemption arc is wish fulfillment, and would rather see a story about his victims realizing they deserve better and moving on without him, instead of reconciling with their abuser.
Your feelings are valid, and I'm not going to say that they aren't. Stories like that can and should exist. But here is why I think it is important in a narrative sense for Endeavor to successfully complete his redemption arc and reconcile with his family in the context of this story:
What I like about Endeavor in a meta sense is that he, and the entire Todoroki family as a whole, feel like a sort of micro-cosm of all the themes of hero society.
Hero society is filled with genuine well meaning heroes that want to do right by people, but ultimately fall short because they're uplifting a flawed and broken system. Endeavor at the beginning of his marriage to Rei was a good father to Touya, Rei was a good and stable mother for her children. But the entire marriage was bult on a bad foundation--Endeavor's selfish ambition to surpass All Might--and no amount of good intentions could fix it.
Ultimately, whether or not Endeavor really was trying to keep Touya from hurting himself didn't matter. Whether or not Rei loved Shoto and Touya doesn't matter. The entire family structure was irreparably flawed from conception, so eventually it fell apart.
But the reason Shigaraki, and by extension the LoV, is wrong in their views of society is that they don't believe in the ability of individual people to change. Shigaraki views society as maggot-filled--essentially, already dead, impossible to reform and therefore needing to be destroyed. But narratively, seeing Endeavor--the absolute worst that hero society has to offer--accepting his flaws, struggling with them, and eventually changing for the better, is how MHA refutes that argument.
