Hurricane Real Talk
For the record, I’m only scared of hurricanes if the path is directed towards me or people I know and care about. They are scary to sit through and I can’t imagine losing a home or a loved one from something like this. I do take these storms very seriously. I’m scared for the people in the path of Michael, especially since they think it’ll become a cat 4 before making landfall. Irma I was scared shitless. I really thought this would be the storm to make landfall in the city I moved to. Tampa has been very lucky when it comes to big storms. Irma taught me something new, however, and that is that hurricanes can literally suck the water out of the ocean
I almost volunteered at the hotel I work at in the downtown area. If I had stayed, I would have seen the water recede and feared the absolute worst. A lot of people thought it would come back literally as a tsunami. Fortunately, it didn’t but this is a great example why people living near water should take the greatest precaution and freakin’ leave when told to. I wasn’t sure if I would get back to a home or a job. It’s not always the wind and rain.

Not only am I going to appreciate good Knuckles art, I also want to appreciate the flute there. Not sure which version of the flute you wanted to depict since there’s so many different models but what you drew is considered closest to the current traverse flute. Aka that’s exactly how you would hold this particular flute and it’s such a pet peeve of mine to see artists draw characters holding these kind of flute with both hands on the same side. His hands would basically line up where the tonal holes would be. As for the mouthpiece position, it’s literally up to the user. Professionals always roll in or out to adjust intonation since no one can ever be perfectly in tune. You can also play around with the tones depending on how much air you put through it. In this position, Knuckles is probably going for more of an airy, whistle-like tone. Also love the pedestal!
