Tumblr is just a nice little place where you can take off your ‘real person’ face and roll around in piles of garbage tailored to your unhinged hyperfocus five minutes before you stand up and go back to your zoom meeting

You think we’re ever gonna see each other after tonight? I think we’ll see each other in 15 years.

A League of Their Own (2022–)

#I don’t know HOW much of this scene was improvised but its construction and execution are so fucking good it boggles the mind #you get the sense that the whole arc of the scene is simply to get Greta to the point of vulnerability and courage #where she can suggest a long-term future with Carson in some fashion #and they get there by joking about their futures if they went their separate ways and stayed the same people they might be #had they not met and changed each other #Carson the plain housewife with her kids and her husband #Greta the bombshell living a life of glamour and notoriety #casting each other back into the versions of themselves that they think wouldn’t be able to have a future together #until Carson inserts herself in Greta’s in the SMALLEST OF WAYS #the most SELF DEPRECATING of ways #ripping a little hole in this mock fantasy and allowing a little sincerity in #and it’s enough to spur Greta to tear down the entire ruse and lay her lil wounded heart bare and on the line #so that maybe their futures could be together. maybe the impossible could become reality if she’s brave enough to say it aloud #maybe she can have some say about what may be. #and Carson isn’t the housewife and she’s not the ingenue and instead they are simply ballplayers in love who choose a future together #it’s such a huge moment but it’s executed so quietly and carefully and with PALPABLE wistfulness #it’s a lot. #A League of Their Own TV #Carson and Greta (via @drshebloggo)

The legacies people leave behind in you.

My handwriting is the same style as the teacher’s who I had when I was nine. I’m now twenty one and he’s been dead eight years but my i’s still curve the same way as his.

I watched the last season of a TV show recently but I started it with my friend in high school. We haven’t spoken in four years.

I make lentil soup through the recipe my gran gave me.

I curl my hair the way my best friend showed me.

I learned to love books because my father loved them first.

How terrifying, how excruciatingly painful to acknowledge this. That I am a jigsaw puzzle of everyone I have briefly known and loved. I carry them on with me even if I don’t know it. How beautiful.

Kinda wanna do a quick look at the booty call scene at the beginning of episode 4 because I think its kinda clear that Greta and Jess are on the same page and Greta is completely aware that Jess knows whats going on

like ok first of all, Carson comes in through the hallway door when (as I love to point out) her room literally has a connecting door to Greta's. and like Greta has used it at the beginning of episode 3 to have a private conversation with Carson

so like I'm assuming that Carson is using the hall door either because she came from another room or because she (most likely) doesn't want to alert Shirley to the fact that she's going to visit Greta's room at night for a booty call

but then Jess is in Greta's room and Carson just kinda stands there with the door wide open and stammers about going to the library.

then she leaves their room, but also leaves the door wide open and steps aside as if she's going to her room but she very obviously just stands there in the hall

So Carson is not subtle and Greta knows this and also Greta is not subtle because when Carson comes in, this is her first comment

like the woman is literally asking if this is a booty call in front of Jess. If Greta were actually in anyway concerned about hiding what they were doing to Jess, she wouldn't have fucking said that in front of her obviously queer roommate.

but then when Greta leaves, why does she make up an excuse to Jess about going to the store?

Well, for one thing, Carson left the door open. Even if they weren't worried about any of the other Peaches overhearing (which Greta almost definitely is), Carson is literally standing right there waiting for Greta to come out. At this point, I don't think she wants Carson to worry about other people definitely knowing what they're doing, queer or not, because 1) she'd probably be a bit embarrassed and 2) then all of a sudden we're outing people to the baby gay to reassure the baby gay that said queer people are cool with their booty calls actually

For another thing, she immediately winks at Jess after saying this and both of them are clearly laughing as Greta is leaving

And finally, Greta is literally telling Jess what to say if anyone happens to come looking for her ("oh no Greta isn't here she went to the store") and is also offering to do Jess a favor for covering for her ass

So yeah, Greta is well aware that Jess is well aware, she's just also Greta and can't acknowledge it directly and is always doing five different things at once to make sure no one that shouldn't be aware finds out

can we take a moment to appreciate Lupe’s face journey as she processes the information that Carson is one of them?

Carson from the farm with the hubby at war??

with Greta???

the way she has to hold on to the table for a moment, as though reality itself is about to disappear from under her

and now she’s imagining them together

It’s like warm bread with butter. Kind of just, like, nice, you know? But with her it’s… Have you ever had pizza?
