But to me, this makes perfect sense.  When you are forced into the category of “woman” against your will, femininity is a chore.  It’s a job that you have.  As soon as you say no, I’m not a woman, suddenly femininity isn’t your job anymore.  It’s not a requirement.  It’s just a fun hobby you can get into.  Or a little treat sometimes.

Yes, gender is indeed used in conjunction to sex to oppress people. Personally I think releasing gender from sex, and releasing both gender and sex from the concepts of binaries, will result in more liberation than the gender crit solution, which as far as I can tell is just saying gender doesn't exist while reinforcing the sex binary and forcing all females to identify as women and all males to identify as men.

The sex binary actually exists. Humans are sexually dimorphic. We cannot “reinforce” the sex binary any more than Mother Nature already does. It’s not a “social construct,” as it exists in nature already. Gender is human-created like money and religion, which are also social constructs.

Gender is the stereotypes tied to our biological sexes. Baby boys wearing blue, baby girls wearing pink, for example. People who are gender critical say that one’s sex should not determine their clothing, hairstyle, makeup, personality, profession, hobbies, or anything about them. All it means is that a person is either male or female. Male and female people should be free to decide what makes them happiest to wear, do, be, etc.

Male adult people are men, even if they choose to wear dresses, put on makeup, and do things traditionally gender stereotyped towards women. They don’t have to “identify” as a man, they already are.

Female adult people are women, even if they choose to have short hair, wear suits, and do things traditionally gender stereotyped towards men. Again, they don’t have to “identify” as a woman, they already are.

Except that doctors routinely ignore the problems of women, and assuming that a disease can only occur in one sex leads to a ton of misdiagnoses because doctors forget that intersex people exist. (Surprise! Cis men can get endometriosis and cis women can have undescended testes. Writing those diagnoses off as impossible is harmful.)

There have been precisely 16 “cis” men who have a disorder *like* endometriosis, ever, in all of time, and there are specific risk factors for developing that condition.

And people with PAIS or CAIS, like the majority of individuals with DSDs, are begging you to stop using them as a “gotcha.” Othering them by insisting they are not one of the two human sexes is gross, and you should stop.
