One day I’d love to see a movie coming out with a plus sized main character and the plot of the movie isn’t centered or making snide remarks about their weight. Fuck the whole “Most girls have trouble with school but Jenny’s issues are a lot ‘bigger’ than she expected’ bullshit. Give me the good “In a race against time, one person has the power to save the world...or end it.” plot where the main character just happens to be bigger. No big romantic moments where a guy loves them ‘despite their size’ or where there are constant mentions of their weight. No more comedic relief over their size, give me the bad ass main characters that don’t give a fuck what people think of how they look and loves themselves. Give me the main character I needed to see as a plus sized child.

Have you watched Hairspray? It's been a few years since I saw it, but if I remember correctly it's exactly what you're looking for
I have it’s actually my favorite broadway show! But the only thing is that a lot of the plot and issues center around Tracy’s weight, like how there are constant jabs and pointing it out throughout the movie. I would love for there to be more movies where the main character is indeed plus size but there aren’t any jokes the writers put in to point it out or for it to be a main topic in the plot. They happen to be plus size but are treated just like a smaller main character would be treated.
My schedule appears to be rather empty as of late. Perhaps I shall return here for questions to appease my recent boredom, do leave any inquiries in the inbox and I shall respond post haste.
