St Hugh of Lincoln is often depicted with a swan, because he was friends with a swan. The swan would follow Hugh around, eat from his hand, and reputedly attacked people who threatened his saintly human BFF. For this reason, the best pictures of St Hugh are the ones where the swan looks like it’s about to fuck you up. Like, massively.

Rest in Peace Daniel Licht. His award winning Dishonored soundtracks never bore me. I listen to them often at work and at home when I’m reading. Beautiful, haunting movie-quality music. Strings, bells, and light touches on the hammered dulcimer. This is my favorite game series so please take the time to listen and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. <3 :’(

The “HeartQuest” books were a series of choose your own adventure books set in the Dungeons and Dragons world, published by TSR, that were romance themed and aimed at girls.
They wanted to make choose your own adventures to sell D&D stuff to the romance crowd. The books were not successful, but they did have some great art by Larry Elmore.
i think the best practical joke any video game pulled was Skyrim opening their game making you think the rebellion was this amazing noble cause against an oppressive government (as most fantasy universes frame it), but then you pretty much immediately find out that the stormcloaks are just racists with swords and the empire isn’t really all that terrible save your standard government problems.
