I make terrains with realistic landscapes, winding rivers, a thousand trees and a little village peeping through. The land and the sky are my painting. ~

Can you pls share whats Honeycoast terrain and what are your favorite terrains?

Honeycoast is an edit of Arianstad by @nimitwinklesims! It's probably edited heavily enough that it might be worth sharing since it looks pretty different - you can grab the SC4 terrain here! Note that I did make a few additional changes uses the modifyneighbourhoodterrain cheat, so it won't be 100% identical.

I usually end up modifying terrains in SC4 to fit my own vision, but my favourites are the ones by @nimitwinklesims (I love her coasts and rivers and always have toruble getting those right on my own), @voleste (they've got plenty and I always like how they're laid out, Hollyhead is on Rainbow Islands) and nepheris on MTS (Springvalle and Maple lake were always my terrains of choice when I was first getting into making hoods myself).

Hope that's helpful!

So for who liked the NH repost from Katatty a few days ago, here's the terrain! Thank you for tagging me so I could find out about it and go digging to find your beautiful pictures.

Greetings all! I have been and am still on hiatus, but I recently noticed that I had (somehow) surpassed 1500 followers which is insane to me. I don't have much to give as far as gifts go, but I figured I'd share this map of my first attempt at a Walled City in appreciation, since there seemed to be a lot of interest in it. I don't plan on releasing the hood deco since it's unfinished and messy, but I'll include the bmp image that i used to generate the map in SC4 for anyone who'd like to use it to create their own displacement and custom deco for it. Knock yourselves out!

And thanks, as always, for following me. It'll always be a bit wild that people are interested in what I do and even though I've stepped back for now, I will always love this community and the superior game that is TS2 :)

Beautiful and versatile terrain from Mortia!

It’s finished, kind of! (I actually didn’t finish decorating the campsite & there’s space for a small farm, but shhhh.) I spent the entire weekend on this damn hood, barely eating or sleeping. My wrist is killing me from placing trees, but I’m really happy with the result :D

Now I just have to build the lots… :(

I know it's an old post but I just had to say! This looks really stunning! <3

You can delete large amounts of neighborhood objects quickly by holding the Escape key and moving the cursor over the objects. I totally knew that. I totally didn’t spend forever deleting the trees that come with the maxis sc4 terrains, one by one.

Custom Regions in SC4 for TS2: Part 1

As promised, I wanted to share the results of my experimenting with creating a custom Region in SC4 specifically with more customizable maps for TS2 in mind. I’ll explain the method of creating the region and some tips for generating your maps.

I will say up front that, unfortunately, SC4 has not been great for me at interpreting a height map generated straight from a 3D program. I will share what ultimately worked for me but maybe others will find new methods with further experimentation.

This isn’t really a procedure for beginners. You’ll need some basic understanding of how to use various graphic programs in order to create a map. I don’t want to discourage anyone though, so go ahead and read on if interested!

New Simblr Alert!

Hey guys! Slyndseysims here. I have lost access to my blog thanks to my ‘main’ blog getting banned last week, after changing some settings in html and triggering a bot autoban. My access to tumblr through the email I used for my simblr is now banned, and after emailing Tumblr support all week and not receiving any replies, I have decided to embrace the change and start over fresh.

My old blog is still available and not deleted, so old downloads and stuff are still up. (Again, I just cannot access it. If I try to log in with my old email it just says I’ve been terminated.) However, I will probably begin moving downloads over to this blog at some point.

Just wanted to officially announce the move! Much love and happy simming! :)

Such a weird situation! May the fresh start bring you many good things!

[2010] Nova Legacy Challenge 3: Generation Tasks

My Fairfoot legacy family started in 2010 with the NLC3 founder from the Sims 2 Supernova forum (now defunct). I'm still off-and-on playing them, so I thought I'd paste the broad generational rules here too, in case anything happens to my old LJ. [my old legacy posts are here.]

Gen 1. Start from Scratch.

Build your sim's house on either a 3X3 sized lot (30X30 for Sims 3), or a small beach lot for those of you with BV. You will not be able to move from this lot for the duration of the challenge, but you are allowed to expand/build upon the house to your heart's content. note: if your computer tends to lag on larger lots, you can choose a smaller lot.

Gen 2. The Starving Sim.

Your household can only make money through hobbies like painting, treasure hunting, novel writing, freestyling/playing instrument for tips... this goes for the spouse and teens as well and doesn't change until the next generation has started. (Elders still living from the previous generation should not have any income, including retirement.)

Gen 3. Parenthood.

Have a family sim? Good. Don't? Oh well..... your goal this generation is have 10 children.

Gen 4. The Paranormal.

Have an alien abduction or be turned into a vampire, werewolf or witch (or a mummy or ghost for S3). This does not apply to the spouse or other family members.

Gen 5. Down and Out.

Life can really suck at times. This generation you can only fulfill the fears of your sims. This applies to the spouse as well but no other family members.

Gen 6. The Townie.

Your heir for this generation must marry a non-custom service person. (this can be a delivery person, police officer, fire fighter, maid, repair man/woman, gardener.)

Gen 7. Pick a Color.

This generation will be based off any one color you choose. Something in this generation has to reflect this color; either in clothing, names, hair color... This applies to both parents and children. Doesn't apply to existing elders.

Gen 8. The Mis-Matched.

Your heir for this generation really made the wrong choice for a life partner. For the duration of this generation, both parents must maintain a negative relationship with each other. Feel the love.

Gen 9. The Overachiever.

The heir and spouse must max every skill point.

Gen 10. The Greedy.

Spend it all... that's right, there is to be no money (or very very little) remaining by the end of this last generation.

Well if this wasn't a wholesome nostalgic listen! Two Maxis developers answer questions from players (in 2005!) and you get a sense of why and how TS2 became such a great everliving game. Of course we knew how great Maxis was but this just illustrates the point again from the inside.... The people who made it sound like well-rounded people with their heart in the right place.

There's a part 2, as well, here:

I’ve been asked many times over the years if I would be willing to share the terrain that I use for Dallùbach. I didn’t want to do this without the permission of the original creator, @nimitwinklesims, however and as it has taken a long time for the two of us to finally be in the same place at the same time, it’s taken a while to get permission :P But now I have it!

My map is an edit of Nimi’s Greylings terrain, which is just a beautiful map all by itself;

I added more flat places for building (because I suck at building on elevated terrain) and a ton more roads because…I like roads and don’t really want to use LotAdjuster frequently and planned to have a very dense ‘hood by the time I was done with everything. I haven’t touched the river because it’s perfect and it’s what made me NEED this terrain to begin with, but I have messed with the rolling hills and created a couple of plateaus for my royal castle and surrounding buildings. In any case, hope you enjoy the map as much as I have!

Thanks again to @nimitwinklesims

For everyone wanting to build more than a tiny settlement among those Greylings rolling hills and river! <3
