โ˜…I tried to shout, "I decide", but my voice betrayed me, breaking into a whisper: "Enough"โ˜…

Hello everyone. Sorry for the long absence. I haven't been online for a long time due to problems in my life. I'm trying to get my mood back by drawing old interests. It's a bit difficult to draw because I haven't drawn for a long time....I really want to draw, so I'll show up more often.

I just recently rewatched the Marvel movies and decided to draw my favorite ship, because I didn't have the courage to do it before.

Holy shit I think I just cracked the code of why people think you canโ€™t sell things on Tumblr ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I was reading one of the Substacks I subscribe to, talking about how they promote their publication and their various sources of traffic, when I came across this paragraph:

Now I happen to also run a fairly popular Substack (about gay vampires). One whose readers are almost entirely Tumblr users. And Tumblr clicks have just never shown up in my stats, Iโ€™m used to it. Naturally I had to comment:

Itโ€™s not just Substackโ€™s tracking that doesnโ€™t work on here. NO tracking works on here. Tumblr is just one of the last platforms left that completely obscures its usersโ€™ data!

Thatโ€™s why thereโ€™s this persistent myth that you canโ€™t advertise on Tumblr. It's not that you can't sell things here, it's that you can't use the invasive methods that are standard everywhere else.

I canโ€™t wrap my head around why Tumblrโ€™s self-promo is all about Goncharov and dashboard crabs and not THIS! My god, their website on its last legs and this - this thing which is purely for the benefit of all their users - is certainly hurting their revenue. They arenโ€™t patting themselves on the back for not selling us out? Not even a little?

You would think they would tell people that 'hey, we are the good guys, we aren't doing all this tracking!'... but they aren't very good at communicating. And I hear there are good staff at tumblr... maybe they all know and don't want to shout about it too loudly to make sure their CEO doesn't hear about this and change it. BTW, I hear their CEO doesn't use tumblr, so won't see this post ;)
