since my writing post was received pretty well, i though i’d make other, to give some insight on the racism in the film industry and why it’s still a big problem now as it was in the past. 

Although I’m happy all of this is being addressed this year (because people have literally had enough of the b.s.), what saddens me the most, is that we’re really only “beginning” to change so late in our supposed “modern” society.

In the year 2020 (let that sink in); we’re no better on racism than we were 60-70 years ago. America, more specifically, White America, had/has this proclivity to attempt to make everyone believe that there isn’t a problem, and that everything will be fine, when there is a MAJOR problem, and everything will not be fine, because the issues persist. White America gets angry because people of color want to be seen and treated as any human being should. And you don’t think that’s a problem?! 🤔

Here’s a perfect example of where a majority of white people’s (not all whites. Let me be perfectly clear) levels of empathy and priorities lays: In the month of May this year; a LARGE majority of Michigan denizens grew tired of the quarentine. They were downright angry, overall fed up, and no longer would tolerate….wait for it….not being able to go get a haircut, not being able to go play at least a round of golf, not being able to go clothes shopping at the mall. YES! Those were their literal stand points. They were so fed up, that they had a large group of Assault-Rifle-armed, body-armor wearing militants at the State Capital to enforce their demands and to intimidate opposition.

Well Got-Damn!!! BUT…..when people of color were getting tortured, humiliated, and murdered to incalculable degrees, and people finally had enough. We all protested and invoked positive change in America….those same people, and a vast majority of whites all around America thought it was petty, a major problem, and should be stopped or they would take to the streets to end it all themselves. THIS…is White America. This is exactly why change needs to happen; because change isn’t wanted by other groups. They want people of color to be treated the way we all have all along.

This is why Hollywood is being attacked, and change must come. Change will come….because for the first time in history, people aren’t taking “no” for an answer anymore. But we still need all the support we can get. And for the whites who stood alongside me and all people of color during these dark times, I fucking love you, and would hug the shit out of every single one of you if I could. We’re all one huge family…about damned time America began to reflect that.
