I can’t believe I'm saying this but there's so much here that outpaces its current contemporaries that I feel a little bit guilty. For all its archaic whiteness, this has more compositional integrity and spatial cleverness than most films made in the last 10 years (of course, save a handful or so; obviously, you monster).  Point is this was about as lowest common denominator late-60s as it got.
