Another amazing set from our Pave’ Collection! Gorgeous pieces of Rutilated Quartz surrounded by sterling silver and genuine diamonds. The rings they’re paired with are also decked out with diamonds and gold Rutilated Quartz pieces. We are kind of in love…

10mm Rutilated Quartz oval labret for a friend and amazing tattooer, Amber Vail.

I pierced Amber’s initial 8mm labret a few years ago and can’t wait to see how this new 10mm oval compliments her aesthetic.

Enjoy my friend!

IT IS NOT DISCRIMINATION

Ok kids, not being hired by a company because of your various CHOSEN body modifications is NOT discrimination. You were not born with these modifications. Not being able to get a job because of your choice to have modifications is part of accepting responsibility for your actions. Companies do have the right not to hire you because YOU CHOSE to alter your appearance, they have the right to select candidates that they feel best represent their company so long as their choice not to hire was not based on race/gender/disability/etc (you know, things you don’t have a choice in).

If you choose to modify your appearance, there will be undeniable consequences. This is one of many reasons why we stress thoroughly considering your transformations before committing to them.

True to some extent but I would argue the nature of the job in which is being sought after should be considered. For example we see people with full sleeve tattoos and piercings on their faces working in the kitchens of high end restaurants because they are not seen as the “face” of the company as a server in said restaurant would be. I’m a believer that employers have the right to enforce a policy that employees that they must cover their arms or remove bodily modifications during work hours or in the workplace or risk termination. Keep in mind the the best code writer for Google could be covered in ink sitting at a chipotle filling out a application and sending in his resume. The question for the interviewer then becomes what is more important, presentability or having the very best team possible working.

Bottom line, an employer will hire who is most competent AND who fits the company’s image best. Discrimination base on natural characteristics is illegal and immoral, but if you changed the way you look for your own benefit, and it doesn’t fit a company’s image, that’s not the company’s fault if they don’t hire you.

Mind you, Churtch and I are both fairly heavily modified people who are agreeing on this, not some plain skinned middle-agers. We live with this consequence. Just be prepared to deal with it as well.
