It’s like when people say “maybe Gaza would have clean drinking water if Hamas would build that infrastructure instead of buying weapons” it’s like. Do you know anything about water resources in Gaza? The coastal aquifer was depleted in large part by *Israeli* extraction and contaminated by sewage and seawater. And the coastal waters, airspace, and borders are still controlled by Israel despite the 2005 “disengagement.” Wadi Gaza is diverted into an Israeli dam, so that water does not go to Gaza. The coastal aquifer alone is not enough to provide for the population’s needs, yet it’s all they really have access to, contributing to the over-extraction. On this day 23 years ago during the Second Intifada to resist the occupation 13-year-old Gazan Fares Udah stood in front of an Israeli tank like a tiny David defying Goliath. Ten days later Fares threw his last stone. He was shot in the neck by Israeli troops.

In an interview his mother commented about the famous photo: "I'm so afraid that Fares' death will be for nothing. That everything will just go back to normal. And the only thing that happened is that I have lost my son."

Wondering what the hell Arab leaders are doing? Egypt has banned a national media outlet that was reporting on Isreali bombings of Gaza. Jordan is sheltering US military bases and troops sent as supply for Isreal ground invasion. Jordan’s King has also asked Biden to help him strengthen his borders as Hamas and Hezbollah are directly targeting these bases. Queen Rania is cute giving speeches, but her husband is America’s puppy.

The Arab leaders already picked their side in this pre-regional war. Enough with “where’s the Ummah?” Their hearts died.

israel could literally nuke gaza off the face of the earth and blame it on iran and every single western news outlet would act as stenographers for the lie, the IDF's singular go-to-move every single time they perpetrate an unforgivable crime is to blame it on their enemies, a famous american palestinian journalist is assassinated by IDF snipers? Blame it on stray gunfire from hamas. Bomb 5 palestinian children playing soccer on a beach? Blame it on Hamas. Bomb 20 ambulances? Blame them all on Hamas. Bomb a convoy of 70 Gazans fleeing south because you told them to? Blame it on Hamas. There is zero pushback in the western press because America does not find it convenient to view Palestinians as human, it is a cold calculated dehumanization of an entire ethnic group in service of maintaining a relationship with a military partner.
