I picked up this Melocactus azurensis recently. Wishing I'd been able to paint it before making these blue note cards! Blue, purple and green succulent note cards are available on my website, individually and as a set! https://www.instagram.com/p/Bny9ipnlfWc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vupnk1db6vn8

Working on a new painting of a big blue barrel cactus - Ferocactus glaucescens. Lots of detail in the spines and the bright yellow flowers of this one!

Here's a sped up video of me painting the last few leaves on this Aeonium. This is the base layer of color, once it's dry I will usually go back and paint one or two more layers of detail on top.

Many thanks to @plantshednyc for inviting me to a terrarium workshop at their new Columbus Avenue location! These succulents were so beautiful I had to paint at least a few of them, starting with this Echeveria purpusorum. If you're in New York City, check out both Upper West Side shops, they have a great selection of plants and containers (like this pink one), and the new location has a coffee bar!

This tiny Echeveria setosa var. deminuta was an interesting challenge to capture in watercolor because of all the fuzzy little details!
