Madoka Magica Main Series “Has Not Ended Yet”
On July 5, at the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story panel at Anime Expo voice actress Chiwa Saito (Homura Akemi) confirmed that the Madoka Magica “the actual series has not ended yet,” implying an anime continuation from where Rebellion left off.
In her closing comments, Saito told the crowed “Madoka Magica the actual series (referring to the TV anime and Rebellion timeline) has not ended yet.” She went onto imply that it would continue in anime formate by attributing her ability to return to the character of Homura to Mitsutoshi Kubota, President of Shaft Inc. the studio which produces all Puella Magia anime content.
Saito said that everyone could look forward to seeing regular and Akuma (demon) Homura again. No further details were given beyond this
The original Puella Magi Madoka Magica TV anime originally aired in 2011. It was adapted into two movies, Beginnings and Eternal, in October of 2012. This ‘main series’ continued one year later in the Movie Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion which featured the debut of Akuma Homura.
