There’s many areas on this planet where so many people in neighbourhood abuse their kids regularly, it’s accepted as a part of norm. Children cannot recognize they’re being abused when the same is happening to their neighbour’s children and 5 other kids on the block, it’s accepted as “the way things are”. Where I lived adults were so unashamed and high on power the abuse gave them, they were openly sharing their personalized ideas of torture and encouraged other parents on what threats to use. I couldn’t even imagine parents who weren’t hateful and eager to hit and punish their kids. I could only dream of the world where children were considered of any importance.

I couldn’t figure out anything until I met people who lived far away, and realized some children had different experiences. And you know what, even if every parent in the neighborhood is doing it, it’s still wrong. I don’t believe any kind of environment could turn a decent parent into an abuser, or anything could convince a good person that torture and sadistic desire to hit kids is justified. The fact that it happens in massive amounts only means parents are sick and power hungry cowards who have nobody to turn on but their kids, and they do so with every excuse they can get. Result of all of this abuse isn’t harmless, it’s traumatized kids, it’s depression, anxiety, ptsd, chronic pain, panic attacks, osdd, and all sorts of trauma related disorders. It’s reducing quality of a child’s life, when children are defenseless to fight or prevent it. Is anything worth so much a whole community of people would damage their children’s lives?

It’s reflected in what people have done to the environment as well, I’ve noticed new generations of children no longer believe they will have a habitable planet to live on by the time they grow up, and adults and parents massively don’t care. They don’t care what kind of life they’re leaving for their own children. They’re not even ashamed or remorseful for destroying the climate, they’re refusing to even acknowledge it happened. It is not justified just because a large amount of people are doing it, just the opposite, it’s destroying massive amounts of children’s lives. It’s least we can do to hold them accountable for their crimes.
