If you like Chris Pratt and want to defend him, that’s your decision. But friendly reminder:

Brie Larson was boycotted, had her movie Captain Marvel review-bombed, had thousands of hate Youtube videos made about her, had death and rape threats, and been compared to Hilter, for almost 2 years for her opinions of diversity.

Natalie Portman was blamed for Thor 2 flopping and attacked for playing the next Thor in Love and Thunder.

Elizabeth Olsen was bullied out of Instagram for not speaking about Chadwick Boseman’s death soon enough.

Don Cheadle is hated for his liberal opinions. And he, Idris Elba, Zendaya Coleman, Tessa Thompson, Anthony Mackie and the cast of Black Panther had racist hate for playing black superheroes.

Comcisgaters and “anti-woke” people rioted against the idea of an Ironheart Disney Plus show to a point they made a rumor that black people harassed Lexi Rabe believing she would be MCU’s Ironheart when it was really about white people bothering her for signing autographs. And plan to attack whatever child actor who will play Riri Williams.

John Boyega, though not Marvel, has been getting death threats for playing the first black lead in Star Wars and accused of getting in between the Reylo ship, accused of being sexist by white women for making a sex joke about Rey, and called out for Disney’s racism.

Chris Pratt getting defended over a Twitter joke but the people I’ve listed above didn’t get as much of the help from big white male stars when they were harassed for real.

MORNING BREAKS & the sky swells with uneasiness ; about to break open & exude its poisonous rain at any moment. a discolored overcast is dark, gives them but a olive filter that’s dark & dreary.  pythia’s neck is craned toward the distant strip of light between it all, meaning it will past within a few hours  —— if they are fortunate.  the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ & a visual SLIVER OF HOPE that it shall not keep them away from their objective for too long.  ( her chest tingles with something unexplainable ; this kind of weather is often seen as a bad omen.  the spirits that linger here have not rested.  they are angry ! )  to halt progress is mildly frustrating, considering how far they have gone with little incident  —— nevertheless, the oleander shaman must persevere & not allow human frivolities like impatience cause her to lose focus.
HER TEMPORARY COMPANION moved quickly, quietly like a nocturnal creature, his sense of direction unrivaled. for the duration of their travel, there was a WALL OF SILENCE between them, save for hand gestures & signals.  an equal understanding of just how dangerous the commonwealth can be.  ( if not for the local fauna, it is the scattered bands of raiders infesting every corner or entryway of anything higher than five stories ! ) so, they often times had to avoid towns.  too many tactical disadvantages.  with grady, she felt confident. safe.
TO ANSWER HIS analysis, pythia offers a quick nod, not taking her eyes off of the ominous view for just a few moments longer. quietly ruminating on things.  such as his choice to change topic not being lost on her ; many a outsider are cynical. their beliefs DO NOT ALIGN  ——  this much is clear.  that being said, she is emotionally secure in herself for it not to offend her in the slightest.
that is a good idea, grady,  her head sagely dips, perhaps here i may be able to find some additional artifacts of knowledge to carry back with me,

REACHES OVER SHOULDER yanking the strap of hunting rifle from her body, the reliable darling thing & assigns seven clips into the chamber in rapid succession. the back of stock sits snug in the bend of elbow & she begins to circle about —— a wide berth.  never directly approaching the entrance. her steps become eerily muted, methodical.  hears a sound coming from the foyer & she squats, keeping to the brick & mortar wall of the exterior building.  sliding across until she reaches the opening.  strange-colored eyes narrow.  the shifting continues.
SHE PEEKS ALONG the threshold in hopes to get a view of what’s awaiting them.  singular molerat.  in one fell swoop, slides entire barrel in the stretch of doorway.  a quick aim through iron sights & the trigger is pulled. a spray of red ejects from the OPPOSITE END of its now slumped over frame ; catches the varmint unawares.  delicate-looking?  yes.  a shrinking violet?  no.
this place is likely a mole-rat nest. i suspect there will be more.

The boom of thunder happens suddenly, and always unexpectedly, in between the deathlike quiet of their location. It descends from the line where the earth and sky touch, the rising sun illuminating it like a blistering gash. Owen can smell the familiar scent of the approaching storm, sharp and faint and metallic. The rains are less and less acidic for every century that passes; prolonged exposure invites second-degree radiation burns, poisoning, blindness, and this is an improvement. In the beginning, rain was black with soot and melted skin from flesh like the fat from an animal burning on a spit. Miles away, years and years ago, the ghouls of Gravestone used to tell him stories of the rain when it was precious and glittered like pieces of glass in the sunlight.

They are looking at the same sky and seeing different things.

Owen nods, as he meets her eyes in grim confirmation. He understands that he is merely a spectator. Pythia has made it obvious that she is not inexperienced with long, enduring journeys through the commonwealth. She is as resourceful as she is clever, and he is gauging the extent of it; it is a professional curiosity, but not nearly curious enough to be distracting.

His legs take smooth, long strides to fall in step with her, too quiet for a man as big as he is. As they approach the decrepit facility’s parameter, he moves to take point ahead of her, as she steadies, aims, fires; her experience with ranged weapons balances his proactive scouting

Owen blinks reflexively as he watches the familiar pop of blood and bone fragments, the headless, pink corpse rolling across the pavement from the sheer force.

Image

"Well, I’d hate to intrude," Owen offers, mouth slanting into a wry smile. He raises his weapon with one hand, as another hand reaches into his satchel; withdraws with his fingers closed around a fusee. “In that case we stay away from the main building. If it’s a nest, they’ll attack on sight to protect their colony. If it isn’t... they’re probably just hungry.”

Neither probability seems particularly appealing. He thinks about worst-case scenarios the way people used to think about the weather. Force of habit.

it's easy to say what happened to George Floyd and the consequences of it as just "oh another disaster for 2020". it's easy to brush it off as 2020 rearing its head again.

but this isn't just 2020. this is last year. and the year before. it's the last century. and next year. next month. don't become complacent and brush it off. don't let this become just another horrible thing that happened in 2020. it shouldn't be forgotten. because this is every day for black people. every year.

let this radicalize you. let this be the final year this kind of thing happens. don't let it become another 2020 disaster. don't let things go back to how it was. we must stop treating this as another thing that happened in 2020. do not let this become the forgotten year and don't allow George Floyd and his voice and countless black voices behind this to be forgotten - just another terrible thing. this isn't just 2020. this is something that happens all the time. don't let this go away.

“It’s not the racist white person who’s in the Ku Klux Klan that we have to worry about. It’s the white, liberal, Hillary Clinton supporter walking her dog in Central Park, who would tell you right now, ‘Oh, I don’t see race. Race is no big deal to me. I see us all as the same. I give to charities.’ But the minute she sees a Black man who she does not respect, or who she has a slight thought against, she weaponized race like she had been trained by the Aryan Nation. A Klan member could not have been better trained to pick up the phone and tell the police it’s a black man, an African American man - COME GET HIM.’ So even the most liberal, well intentioned white person has a virus in his or her brain that can be activated in an instant. And so what you’re seeing now is a curtain falling away.” - Van Jones

Right?

Amy Cooper is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s ALSO the “liberal” white men who write racist mass incarceration crime bills, and it’s the liberal white women who refuse to prosecute killer cops like Derek Chauvin. It’s also tough on crime Democrats.

Look, don’t get it twisted - Republicans are absolutely evil. Evil af. But please stop buying into the wishful narrative that America’s problems with racism begins or ends with Donald Trump, or Republicans. Getting rid of Republicans and conservatives (including conservative Democrats) is an absolute necessary step - but it is far far from sufficient.

Stop thinking racism will end when Trump is defeated. Stop thinking that racism and the police weren’t a problem until Trump came along. There is a long list of names of innocent and unarmed black people who were murdered by police long before Trump, before Obama, before Tamir Rice, before Sandra Bland, before Trayvon Martin, and so many others.

The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women of colour like Marsha P. Johnson paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can.Hey! Better yet, reblog this version:

now is not the time to police the frustration of black people and how we’re behaving out of pain and grief.  non-black people: if you are helping our cause to the best of your ability then us being critical about things we deem to be performative and disingenuous should not be taken as an invitation to come crying to us about how you feel we’re being rude or mean or asking too much. we deserve better than the bare minimum. like jesus f. christ! read the goddamn room! we are in pain! we are grieving, if you’re feeling bad take that elsewhere! if u don’t know what to do then read the posts we are sharing and try to implement change as much as you can! use ur brains!

"Legally obligated"? Are you fucking serious? And you didn't even tag it so people can choose not to see it. How do you know certain people aren't going out constantly and doing activism, but just want to be on tumblr and relax, without seeing that shit for the time being? Stop shoving that stuff in peoples' faces like you know what's best for them.

1. I didn’t write that post.

2. I SPECIFICALLY don’t give a fuck about YOUR comfort. I never will. Get used to that. Black people are being murdered. It will always matter more to me than your delicate sensibilities.

What the hell does " pro-veteran anti-military " mean?

it means i can oppose war, american imperialism, the military industrial complex, and the cult of male violence without discounting the myriad factors that contribute to someone enlisting, including but not limited to millions of dollars spent annually to recruit children.

also means i’m disgusted with a culture that superficially venerates veterans for nationalist and capitalist purposes while simultaneously fucking them over re: housing and healthcare and suppressing veteran voices should their experience as a vet happen to inform anything resembling anti-military sentiment
