cassette photography turned 3 today!
Growing up I always had one goal. To end up living in the golden state – California. I’m not really sure why, it was just always something I thought about. I am a huge Disneyland lover and have always imagined that I am meant to live by the sea. So naturally California was the destination for me. It wasn’t until I moved around a couple times that I decided it may not be my destiny after all.
In the last year I have had my sights set on the Pacific Northwest – Seattle in particular. Having never been there my friends and family didn’t understand why I would want to be somewhere that I really didn’t know much about. Last month I was able to visit with my Mom & sister and can now say why I think it’s the place for me. It has the city life that I’ve grown to love, it’s pretty much in the sea, the culture fascinates me and it is the home of Nordstrom. (Need I say more? – ha ha) Obviously I still have much to learn but for now I think it will be my new goal. I hope you enjoy a little bit of Seattle through my eyes. xx

Think about when you were one. Did you have a favorite movie? Mine was “Free Willy“. Think about how impressionable you are at a young age. You connect with everything. And for me, I especially connected with animals. I’m not sure what it is about them – I empathize with them more than any other creature on this earth. Now fast forward about twenty-two years and you have someone who has been educated a little bit about conservation, the ways of theme parks and you have a girl who is very passionate against corporations like Sea World etc.. Now add a trip to Vancouver, British Columbia and you have the reason for this post!
Sorry about the long journey. I had the privilege of going whale watching on my recent trip to see One Direction in concert. I can’t really describe the beauty of the wildlife I got to see. So I’ll let my pictures do the talking. I urge you to boycott places where they parade animals who are so intelligent, who swim thousands of miles per day and who stay in their families for their whole lives. Don’t by a ticket. xx

Happy Graduation Week! College graduation is so exciting, especially for one of my best friends, Nina Sampson. She is graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. It is the perfect career path for her and I wish her all the best. We had a great time on campus and the sun didn’t interfere too much which was awesome! Enjoy and comment with your thoughts xx

The studio was alluring, the lighting was inspiring, and the sound system was a dream come true. My compliments to the designer.

Looking back on 2014, I'd say I had a pretty great year. Though it had it's challenges I'm really grateful for these experiences displayed above. Happy New Year! Can't wait to see what this year brings. xx
This shoot was inspired by a couple things. I really wanted to go on a hike with my friend who hits the trail quite a bit. I also wanted to try to combine being active with an incredible backdrop. Well of course Jayne thought of a bunch of places so we set out for an adventure! The extra fun part is she's a beautiful dancer and has quite the background in the sport. We appreciated the landscape together and what we came up with is something I'm really proud of. Enjoy! xx
For my last shoot of 2014 we decided to brave the cold and have some fun. Lindsey was my co-worker at my first job six years ago and we have stayed friends ever since. The Roxy style of shooting in the snow was definitely the inspiration. I think they turned out pretty well! Enjoy xx
