Rats leaving the ship

Well, I haven’t been very active here in a while anyways since I’ve been working a lot on commissions and private requests, so I didn’t really have much time to draw for myself... regardless, Tumblr imploding comes at a very unfortunate time. I have always tried to keep the explicit stuff to my other blog, but with so many people leaving the platform (or at least threatening to do so) I guess the least I can do is plug my FurAffinity (link) which, while in my opinion not as comfortable for personal interaction, at least has a pic-by-pic content filter, so if you’re uncomfortable with NSFW, you don’t have to see it, and I still have only one account to collect all my work. So if you are for some reason still following me, please check out the link, my page also has most of my other social media and contact info, such as twitter and discord. So yeah, while I don’t anticipate leaving Tumblr, I’ll at least have a safety net in case this site does in fact bite the dust. Thanks for reading :3

Just an update

I'm sorry if this gets a bit longwinded, but I just need to get this off my chest. TL;DR: I'm really not doing well, I have no idea what to do about it, and I’m sorry for not being around for my friends.

There’s a bug going round (though I have my doubts as to how much of a ‘bug’ it actually is) that prevents people from accessing their blogs if they go to the blogname.tumblr.com address. Any attempt to access blogs this way (ours, those of others or any kinds of links on the web that lead back to Tumblr posts) results in us being redirected to the main Dashboard page (tumblr.com/dashboard). The only way to access a blog, for those of us affected by this bug, is to go to the Dashboard pop-up view (tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/blognamehere). Of course, the Tumblr mobile app is wholly unaffected. Of course.

Here’s where it gets very fucking sketchy for me:

  • so far, every single user I’ve seen affected by this bug is located in Europe, like myself;
  • when I tried to access several blogs (my own among them) through a US proxy, I was able to do so, without being redirected to the Dashboard
  • I repeat, this ‘bug’ affects European users and I was able to access blog-pages by using AN AMERICAN IP ADDRESS. What in the ever-loving hell, @staff​?

In light of GDPR (and Tumblr being singled out as one of the sites that made it as onerous as possible to opt-out of your data being shared with a ludicrous number of third-parties), I really wouldn’t be surprised if they’re trying to kick European users to the curb in this way / trying to force us to use the mobile app instead. Just the thought of having to pay for a VPN so I can keep this fucking site even remotely functional (remember – no Tumblr content link from the web is accessible anymore – if I click on a link that’s blogname.tumblr.com/post/postnumber, I’m always redirected to the first page of the dashboard) makes my blood boil.

Also, I’ve noticed the app doesn’t play nice with VPNs lately. It acts like it has no WiFi connection; meanwhile, everything else works fine.

Update: For me at least the problem has been solved. Doesn’t mean the root cause was fixed or just patched up, nor that I’m not still pissed how something this integral to the main function of the website “slipped through the cracks”. But I am happy that somebody took notice and deigned it important enough to solve in a comparatively timely fashion. So, small victories, I guess?

Hey guys, I’ve got a problem that recently popped up after I reinstalled my OS. As you can see, in Krita (but similarly for Paint Tool SAI and GIMP) my cursor is not alligned with my stylus on my Wacom Cintiq 12WX. It appears to be stuck thinking both my monitor and my tablet are the drawing surface, similar to the expected result when you enable display toggle. However, I can’t restrict it to only use my tablet. I’ve tried updating and downgrading the drivers for my graphics card and the tablet, running the programs in XP and Vista compatibility mode, changing DPI scaling, deleting the wacom user prefs, enabling and disabling SAI's "Wacom Bug" workaround in the misc.ini, as well as switching from tablet to mouse mode. I have found reports of Win 7 updates causing the error, but I do not have the mentioned updates (KB4093112 or KB4012218) installed.

If anybody had this error before and found a solution that I haven’t tried, please tell me, I’m going insane scouring the internet and only finding non-working solutions...

Lord Honk’s BBQ primer

Since it’s the beginning of barbeque season (at least for me it is) and I had my phone handy, I thought I’d share how I do with the grilling and such. This isn’t some Master Chef kinda guide, rather I just wanted to show y’all just some basic tips in case you were afraid of giving it a shot.
