Boosted Russian Big Muff with mods, stuffed into a 1590B. This pretty much uses the Musket topology, which is just a Russian Muff with LPB-1 in front, an extra pot/cap on the tone network for mids, and a variable low shelf right after the LPB-1.

These additions greatly expand the range and usefulness of the basic Muff circuit, which is why the Musket is so popular. But I have a pretty different set of preferences when it comes to the implementation. I like the LPB-1 to bias better than stock and have higher headroom, so I use a BC550 there with altered component values. I also like to move the low shelf after the gain pot, and I use different tone stack values to make the circuit more bass-friendly. I’m also a fan of using 2N2222s for the Muff transistors, depending on the application.
