Tonight: Episode 13
While the majority of the band was dealing with shadows and a hound of darkness, Marius was wrapping up company business and headed back to rendezvous in Tol'Dorom. The band, as Marius drew closer to meeting back up with us, went and spoke with the Tol'Dorom City Watch. Captain Lystaros was already there, and had explained much of what we came to explain. But at the word from Lieutenant Sturmkrieg, relayed to Gael, about Morvaine's targeting of elves, the atmosphere grew grim...
Enough to warrant the Queen's attention. Where we were to report to the next evening.
Afterwards, we went to the Arcane College to let Edwin put his plan of getting his "mentor" off his back about the stolen spellbook. And receive the news that Edwin was accepted as a student!
The next day, we met back up with Marius and spent the rest of it getting ready for, and then going to, our big audience with Queen Imril of Vaeleryn.

50. How does your character feel about their own mortality? Gael, by virtue of being half-elf, has a longer lifespan than her human forebears. That said, she knows, and has had it impactfully internalized in her career as a Grim Knight, that she's only got this one life to live. But after what's happened in her mission with her deputized companions, knowing firsthand that more than just undead can send her to Heriot's Halls of Silence is sobering. And while she knows not to reject Heriot's call, she's not willing to just lie down and die any time soon. The Shepherd's Call will come when it comes, but in the meantime? Gaelinien Falke isn't a coward; she's going to Rise Higher and make this life count. c:
51. If they knew they would die tomorrow, what would they do today? She'd absolutely be sure to get a last message sent to her family and friends/comrades, to tell them how much she loves them and not to mourn her passing but to celebrate her life. Also to ensure she can't be raised as an undead. And then she'd prepare herself to go down fighting, then endeavor to make the most fun out of the last hours she has.

28. What makes them laugh out loud? Risi is very easy to make laugh, to be honest. A lot of things make her laugh aloud. Getting away with a harmless prank, making a friend laugh, even just little silly day to day things. She's gregarious and amuseable like that. lol
46. How do they handle getting sick? Sleep and food. xD Risi really dislikes being sick, as it makes her have to be isolated from most other people so she doesn't get them sick. So she gets lonely and whiny when she's awake and miserable. But most of the time she's sick, Risi spends either asleep, or eating.
She might be a changeling but halfling cultural habits are deeply ingrained in her lol

It turns out the shadows and the dog attacked us because it wants something Edwin has: His "mentor's" spellbook. And though we tried to rest, the hound was not going to let us. So we decided to take the ranger path to Tol'Dorom...
Where it attacked us once more, biting Edwin and trying to drag him off. Several tense seconds pass before Boffin's firelight and the nearby fairy-lights break its camouflage and allow Gael and a starry-form Soliana to fire radiantly-lit arrows into it. Sending it howling away in full retreat. After getting the dark hound off us and sleeplessly navigating to Tol'Dorom, the band of would-be heroes made it inside and found safety, a WELL-deserved rest, and a visit to the house of healing.
It's been a week since Gatewatch. The Tol'Dorom City Watch must be informed. Join us tonight at 9pm Central/10pm Eastern to see how that goes!

The road to Tol'Dorom was not as safe as we'd hoped. During the day, all seemed in order and about as normal as we'd expect. People passing by, having a chat with some fellow travelers, the usual!
Edwin's nerves had him on guard, and wanting to avoid the shadows and dark more and more as evening came on.

The road to Tol'Dorom was not as safe as we'd hoped. During the day, all seemed in order and about as normal as we'd expect. People passing by, having a chat with some fellow travelers, the usual!

After dealing with wild pigs and meeting a... Passionate butcher, our would-be heroes had a good meal and a good rest.
Well... Except Edwin. Tortured by a terrible nightmare, accidentally waking all except Marius, our rest was not as good as it could have been. The next morning was not an improvement, either. The rendezvous with Sturmkrieg did not bring happy news; things are worse than perceived, and it's all the more imperative we make it to Tol'Dorom with our message.
Additionally, Marius has company business to attend to from his mercenary colleagues, leaving our little band without its heavy-hitting sellsword for a couple of days.
It's only a little over a day to Tol'Dorom. Surely nothing's going to come bite us in the backside this far into Vaeleryn.

The morning after the spider incident, having been given a precious family recipe as gratitude for saving the Bravin' Raven tavern's owners, our would-be heroes were after the spider parts. Gael wanted the venom for later refinement and antivenin, she said. Venom and silk were both collected after a goose-chase to find the corpse pile, but we weren't the only ones who wanted the spiders...
A pack of wild boars contested us for it, led by one massive pig that tried to gore Edwin! We made short work of them, and took the big one to the town butcher. And what an interesting fellow he was! To where Gael, Soliana, and Boffin opted to take him up on the offer to watch him work, and Marius took Edwin to the healers.
What a day that was! What will the next hold for us?
