Refugee Crisis in Europe

There’s a human catastrophe happening on the borders of Europe as desperate refugees mainly from Syria flee their war torn countries and head for Europe to seek asylum and sanctuary.

Whilst Germany has opened it’s doors to Syrian refugees along with Belgium, the British government continues to refuse to up the quota of refugees it will take in and refuses to sign up to an EU deal that would see refugees shared fairly amongst European countries. At the moment, Britain has taken in a shameful 216 refugees from Syria. That’s compared to the 800,000 refugees Germany has estimated it will take in this year.

If you are a British citizen then please sign this petition calling on the government to take in more refugees and also write to your local MP demanding they speak out for Britain taking more refugees.

Here are some ways you can help give to refugees across Europe now.

There needs to be an end to refugees like 3 year old Aylan Kurdi washing up on beaches drowned or bodies being found decomposing in trucks on along Europe’s motorways (and yes it’s shameful that it’s taken events like these for people to care and act).
