I'd be lying if I said this blog wasn't for the love of all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Blog type: Art work, and reblogging other turtle arts from time to time.

Hello Darkness My Old Friend

I’ve come to tumblr once again. SO, I’ve been away from tumblr for a while because, honestly, the whole tumblr scene has been giving me a bit of anxiety. I’ve been considering making a new account for my art and just starting from scratch, so I’ll be keeping folks updated on that if so! On a less anxious note, or perhaps equally anxious but a different category of anxious, I’ve still got commissions open! Yes, yes, I’ve had them open before, but I am having a hard time finding work as of late, and now more than ever I’ll need to be working on commissions, because I have a trip planned in September, and bills to pay before that. So, if you’re considering a commission, here’s my list of prices! http://terrapinwin.tumblr.com/post/143069574678/commission-prices And if not, a boost would be awesome. I’m up for all kinds of art, fandoms, and styles. Just message me and hopefully we can work something out!

Commission Boost!

So, I haven’t been able to draw as much recently, BUT I have a friend who has! I’ve been trying to for AGES convince her to put up commission information for others, and fiiiinally, it has been done! Muahaha! Here, have a look with me, yes? http://n3rdyg0ggles.tumblr.com/post/159207351789/n3rdyg0ggles-proper-first-draft-of-my

First off, the artwork is versatile and his artist is expanding her range of art and subject matter. I myself have done an art trade with her before (before they opened commissions, did I already say, FINALLY) and I was so pleased with the results! The artwork was traditional, and well done, and exactly what I requested. The best part was the timely manner it was completed in! LOOK AT THIS

I really like this artist’s work, and I believe a commission boost is in order! She also draws OC’s, TMNT, Creepy Pasta, Undertale, does logos for businesses and just...ahhh! I highly recommend for the good art, and very fair artist who makes them!

I’m so sorry for not having been active recently, folks. ;u; I’ve been incredibly busy, and introspective, and all the little bits and pieces in between, so much so that I’ve been putting off even posting here or reblogging things. I hope to be back and swinging properly ASAP with turtle arts to show you all, and if I can I’ll find some unposted turtle art of mine and pop it on for the time being! In other news, my birthday is in three days and I’ve only just come to terms with acknowledging it at all this year so hhhhhhh. Wish me luck on another trip around the sun.

Hi Terrapinwin. I love the dark colouring and shading you did with the Dark Leo you did for your collaboration. I want to do something similar for my own piece of art but I haven't found any useful tutorials online. Do you know of any?

Hey hun! I can't think of any tutorials off the top of my head, but the way I lit that picture was by making a layer over the color and ink layer, and filled it with a dark color. I put the layer's setting on multiply, and then lowered the opacity between 50-70%.Then I took an eraser, lowered the opacity to about 20%, and erased anywhere light would shine (in this case, from the background, behind dark Leo). Then I made ANOTHER layer set to multiply, and using the same color I filled the first shadow layer with, I shaded the picture as normal with a harder brush on higher opacity. Then I lowered/raised the opacity of both those layers until I found something I was satisfied with.Hope this helps!
