Hey all! Good news!

The Spithouse Webstore (the main place to order your copies of HAPPINESS) is back in business after a looooong hiatus. I’ve been moving around a lot these last few months and have generally been absent from Happiness HQ because of it (no access to the books), hence the store being closed for quite some time.

Unfortunately, I’m actually going to be out of the country for the next 2-3 weeks, so please do note that any orders made between today and October 23rd will not be shipped until October 26th.

As for the handful of people who figured out that Happiness could still be ordered through our bandcamp page and through the storenvy marketplace while the main webstore was down (damn you guys, even *I* forgot that was an option!) -- sorry for the massive delay in shipping orders, those will be sent out tomorrow with some extra goods (and um, a refund in shipping) for your serious patience!

Everyone else... I’ll see ya in 3 weeks!!! <3<3<3

Hey! Do you have anymore Happiness 4 up for grabs?

I do I do I do!! The online store is currently closed because I have not been around or able to access my inventory for the summer, but it will be opening back up on September 1st, or possible a little earlier. Despite my lack of engagement on here (or most social media) recently, I will make sure to bombard tumblr et al. with news of the store re-opening (with DISCOUNTS) once that’s all back up and running. Thanks for asking!

Hello Happiness! I love what you do! I draw a comic strip called Pets Talk Records in which (surprise, surprise) pets talk about records. In the latest edition a greyhound talks to a chihuahua about Lykke Li's 'I Never Learn'. Please check it out if you're interested - that's it there on my tumblr - and if you dig it, please share! Keep up the great work, Ross.

TCAF is coming up and this is just a reminder that Woweezonk (a.k.a. Patrick Kyle, Chris Kuzma & Ginette Lapalme) were generously given space to curate a small press room yet again in 2015 !!! (((much ♥♥♥ to TCAF organizers for inviting us back)))

If you’ve visited in years past, you won’t find us in front of the giant windows this time because this year we’ve moved into the Beeton Auditorium (just off the main room/1st floor) so don’t forget to stop by ~~ ~~ ~~

Our Small Press Room has more ppl tabling in it than ever before and here is the full list with links :

Join us this Saturday April 25 at 2 p.m. for Our Memories Are Cut and Paste, which in the words of organizer, facilitator, and zinester Jordan Alam is “a zine-making workshop and discussion about zines by queer and trans people of color as a way to preserve our thoughts and histories.” Come by to learn about other zines by QTPOC zinemakers, writers, comics and storytellers and start in on your own one page zine.

When Chitra Ganesh’s Tales of Amnesia (2002) was installed in her new exhibition Eyes of Time, currently on view at the Museum, I was excited to take a closer look, and to use her powerful work in storytelling as a point of inspiration to recognize the work of other queer zinemakers of color that are active in NYC.

Jordan Alam was the perfect partner to work with to create a celebratory and critical space, where folks with all levels of familiarity with zine culture are welcome to participate and learn more about zinemaking and self-publishing. Jordan has worked with Feminist Zine Fest NYC and Barnard Zine Library, and advocates for the visibility of QTPOC artists and zinemakers in DIY spaces. Jordan blogs at The Cowation and edits at As[I]Am, an Asian American online social justice magazine.

Jordan will be joined by Suzy X and Sherley Olopherne. Sherley is a photographer that engages mainstream communities in a dialogue about what immigrant, dyke, and various marginalized communities look like. She works in partnership with the Lesbian Herstory Archives, our neighbors in Park Slope. Suzy X is a staff writer at Rookie Mag and MTV World and contributes to Bitch Magazine, Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. I have been a fan of her work for a while after I came across her comics online. Her zines include Riot Grrrl Problems, Malriada and The Mallgoth Chronicles.

Open Space is pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Publications & Multiples Fair (PMF VI) on March 28th and 29th, 2015. This annual event is a celebration and survey of artist publications, prints, and objects produced in multiple, with related lectures and programs. Last year’s fair featured over over 80 independent publishers, galleries, and artists from Baltimore and across the country. We hope to showcase even more amazing work at the fair this March, in a great new location here in Baltimore, The Baltimore Design School. Join us for the weekend!

I've done PMF the last 2 years and it's one of my favorites. Hope to see you there!
