diana.
Diana managed a soft LAUGH at the reminder of their little adventures, shaking her head a little as she made a face at the RECOLLECTION of their little experiment. “Hey, it was supposed to taste like a chocolate strawberry sundae but somebody insisted on having some BANANA in there to make some sort of crazy banana split cocktail,” she nudged at him, letting out a giggle, shaking her head. “God, that was an AWFUL idea. I don’t know why I even listen to you like half the time,” she shook her head, unlocking her car.
“Yeah, unfortunately, some people didn’t quite APPRECIATE the old car,” she narrowed her eyes at him, slipping into the driver’s seat, waiting for him to get in as she started the car, backing out of the lot and making her way back towards the bar they had been talking about earlier, parking at the empty slot as she looked over towards him, managing a smile before they had gotten off.
He was RIGHT, nothing changed, and as she slipped in, she found the booth they’d normally spent countless of hours just hanging out around. She grinned, taking Tom’s wrist as she made a beeline towards their booth, slipping on one of the seats as she looked up at him. “So, are we doing SHOTS to obliterate your memory or are we doing beer first so you can tell me all about it? Your call.”
He was SILENT for most of the ride, eyes glancing out of the window constantly, sensing a certain awkwardness flooding his veins aswell. It was weird, after ALL this time that has passed, talking to her again. It didn't feel real, rather than that it was obscure. It felt like FATE was playing evil pranks on him, as if the failed marriage earlier this day hadn't been horrible already, no, he HAD to meet this one person he was still feeling something for he definitely shouldn’t. Maybe it was a sign, maybe it was just a cruel joke. Either way, he didn't quite know how to DEAL with it.
He let out somewhat of a laugh however once she asked what exactly they wanted to drink. It was the LEAST of his worries, all he wanted was to just get buzzed enough to forget the past three years, basically. ❛ Honestly, I'd rather FORGET everything immediately. But I don't think that would be fair, you actually deserve to KNOW what's been happening ever since..❜ He trailed off, settling down and raising a hand towards the waiter to DISTRACT from his words, ordering two beers on his, deciding for the latter of her given options.
❛ I don't even know where to start." He muttered, just loud enough for her to hear. The place was a tad crowded, with people chatting & laughing, being HAPPY. It made him sick. ❛ It was-- after I finished college I applied for this hospital, you see, and that's where I met HER. ❜ Tom cleared his throat, feeling more awkward than before, but fortunately their beers were delivered in that moment and he immediatelly took a BIG gulp or two out of it to ease things for him at least a bit.
❛ There's nothing so SPECIAL about. We hung out a lot, got along well, started dating after a while. Clichee stuff. It kind of was her who urged me to ask her to marry me. But I guess I did want it too in a way. It's just-- It doesn't make sense. I really thought she LOVED me. ❜ He shrugged, again drinking a little. Somehow, he felt a bit better than before now that the story was off his SOUL, but it didn't make things less complicated.
