Two aliens are flying near earth. The first one says, “The dominant life form here have developed satellite based nuclear weapons.” The second one says, “Are they an emerging intelligence?” The first one says, “I don’t think so, they have it aimed at themselves.”

i was talking with my dad about this and we both agreed that aliens would probably take us out since it’s clear that green and blue planets such as ours are scarce and should not be dealt with in such careless and selfish manners that humans do. We rationalized that if they had created the means for intergalactic travel that they had clearly had either a peaceful or happily united planet that allowed such advancements to be made, since if they were constantly battling each other, like Earthlings, they would put all their time and effort into their militaries and weapons(also like Earthlings) and eventually destroy their planet. They’d see how petty and trivial we are(at least, on the surface, the people who lead), and decide that ultimately Humankind could not hold the responsibility of inhabiting a world so rare as ours. They might give us a chance but if we start another war or genocide or endanger the ecosystem that sustains the world that’d quickly take us out.
