"In the instance an employer makes an illegal request for a photograph as part of a job application, you may submit a complaint to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission." Successful violation fee collections are paid partially to the one who suffered the violation, which in many cases exceeds a year of work at these shit jobs. There's only two weak points to a corporation, and those are in the budget and in the supply chain. Hit them where it hurts.

Stede + Yellow Robe (requested by @blakbonnet)
#stede's yellow robe is a symbol of his cowardice #no hear me out #these are not all from the first episode but a chunk of them are #the episode where buttons explains why his men might mutiny #because he's 'weak...soft bellied...yellow' #we all know yellow is a color associated with cowardice #this is stede's 'battle jacket' #as in #this is the garment stede takes comfort in when he's hiding in his room from the prospect of his first real raid #he's also wearing yellow (or yellowish green?) when he leaves his family #which is simultaneously both very brave and extremely cowardly (he needed to leave but the way he did it was awful if understandable) #i'm just saying this show flagged HARD to make sure we knew stede was a coward from the beginning #stede grows a lot in the first season but he ain't done yet #it's also notable that this is the robe ed uses as a blanket in ep 6 during his bathtub breakdown #this robe is simultaneously protection from danger/expression of fear #notably it disappears after this point in favor of the fuschia robe #which is think is a visual cue to the audience that the romantic narrative is coming to the foreground now #it's about stede (and later ed) wearing his heart on his sleeve (@jessica-drewz)

Novelist Khaled Hosseini tells the world about how proud he is of his transgender daughter
The Afghan-American novelist Khaled Hosseini (author of The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns), tweeted about his daughter coming out as transgender.
“I’ve never been prouder of her.,” he wrote. “She has taught our family so much about bravery and truth.”
“Most of all, I am inspired by Haris’ fearlessness, her courage to share with the world her true self. She has taught me and our family so much about bravery, about truth. About what it means to live authentically. I know this process was painful for her, fraught with grief and anxiety. She is sober to the cruelty trans people are subjected to daily. But she is strong and undaunted.“
“I love my daughter. She is beautiful, wise, brilliant. I will be by her side every step of the way. Our family stands behind her.“
