Merry Christmas everyone! From Alan Dalby
A poster I designed for Grub’s Oktoberfest event on the 2nd on October.
This is my entry for the E4 EStings competition. Pretty happy with it but due to the fuzzy entry guidelines I’m not even sure If I entered correctly. Hopefully it’ll get some love on here anyway!
Yesterday I finished this Gif of an apartment block, complete with cat! Had a lot of fun with this one.
I’m making a bigger gif, but it’ll take me a while to finish I think, so heres a little piece of it. Really pleased with my use of negative space here.
Another little Illustration, this time I opted to make it just a still image instead of an animated GIF. The broken plate looks a bit like a record, but I’m not too fussed about that.
Final Illustration for #DrawFuturama.
Why not Zoidberg?
I created this logo-set for Block Cinema. A new film night in Manchester showing back to back films on a theme, with a zero tolerance stance to phone usage, chatting and eating ridiculously noisy snacks. The nights will be held at Keystone, a new independent arts venue thats currently being funded by KickStarter. Theres only 53 hours left as I write this! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/keystonemcr/keystone-independent-art-drink-and-food-all-under/posts/1148274. Have a look, back and share the project. Really enjoyed putting my new gif making skills into a real project.
Have you tried Al Dalby's new roasted animated gif coffee beans? They're delicious, and I'm really pleased with how GIF this has turned out. Let me know what you think.
I’ve been really enjoying Adventure Time at the moment, and felt inspired to do this piece based on “We Fixed a Truck”. It includes everything you need to get your truck up and running!
This dude has sat unfinished for a couple of weeks but I finally got round to animating him. What do you think? I feel there might be too much going on, but I enjoyed making all the separate bits and I'm quite pleased with the finished gif overall.
Dream.
Here's another short animation sequence I've created, while I've been trying out a little bit more complex animations and realising just how little I know and that I'm probably doing things in the worst way possible.
Still, I'm pretty happy with how my skills are coming along and the overall look of this piece.

Finally sharing this owl Illustration I did as part of a branding for an American client last month. A mixture of vector work, and hand-drawn textures. See the whole project here.
I made another small gif. Want to make a more complicated one soon!
I made another gif. I wasn't too keen on this one originally, but It's growing on me so I thought I'd post it anyway!
I made another gif. Really enjoying doing these and learning some basic after effects.
