Somehow hadn't actually watched this Gotham Knights launch trailer until now. Kind of an interesting trailer playing on the insecurities each one has about themselves. Also I do really like this Alfred as well.

I've been staring at this gif for ages and it's so funny.

Maul is just showing off and does this completely unnecessary jump to back away, doesn't bother to use the Force to open the doors but throws something at the controls.

AND FUCKING OBI-WAN KENOBI CASUALLY WALKS UP TO HIM, SWINGING HIS LIGHTSABER LIKE "YEAH I'M GONNA FUCK YOU UP BITCH"

The longer I look at it the funnier it gets. He's just not impressed at all lmao

And he keeps doing it.

Just an extra in a movie, unnoticed while the real protagonists connect.

I do still always find the fight between Paul Atreides and Jamis of the fremen to be rather interesting. Since it highlights something not always shown in movies.

Paul is a very good fighter having been training for years, but he's never had to kill. So when he fights Jamis and doesn't realize it is a fight to the death several times he gives Jamis the oppurtunity to yield when he has a chance to kill him.

This briefly angers Stilgar who wonders if Paul is just toying with Jamis until Jessica tells him "He's never had to kill." In the book and the lynch movie Stilgar realizes what that means and just replies with "He'd better learn quickly."

Since actually killing something outside of an in the moment frenzy is definitely hard for most humans to do especially if they've never had to do it.

So i always find it interesting seeing Paul have to come to the realization that he does have to kill Jamis, that he has no other choice. And it's definitely a choice that impacts him greatly in that loss of innocence way, since despite everything paul had already been through that was one thing he still had not been forced to do.

Alot of movies and such tend to gloss over the difficulty of making the choice to kill. So it's interesting to see when it isn't glossed over.

Saw Godzilla Minus One tonight in my local theatre, it was in Japanese with english subtitles. And man was it just a really damn good movie, it was full of drama and emotion with the characters, especially the main character Koichi Shikishima. Who was a Japanese Pilot in the War and he survived, and while surviving war is generally considered a good thing. For him its not due to some of the practices Japan was doing in the War, the whole fall on your sword to take the enemy with you.

So he has a lot of survivor guilt, especially since the movie doesn't pull any punches in showing you a wrecked Japan. Where so many people lost their families and loved ones and the people that survived have to carry on somehow and rebuild.

And Godzilla really fits in perfectly for just adding that horror of surviving one war only to have to deal with this terrifying monster that for some reason just wants to cause havoc and destruction. Almost like it's haunting the survivors and denying them the ability to move on and live.

Also Godzilla's Atomic Breath is probably at its peak fear level in this movie. If you ever wondered what it'd look like if Godzilla breathed out an actual Nuke instead of just a Blue Beam....well this movie answers that question. It's sheer destructive power in the movie really hearkens back to Godzilla's original motif of being a personification of the horror of atomic power in war.

All in all I'd definitely recommend seeing the movie at some point, even having to read the subtitles it was still easy to keep up with what was going on in the movie they did really good with timing them. And even though I can't understand the japanese language I could still feel the emotions of the actors in their words.

It is always fun when developers take the time to add little details that would be very easy to miss. The kind of details that they didn't necessarily need to do but do add alot of flow and immersion to a game.

Like Monster Hunter World Iceborne has a bit where your normal Handler leaves for a few missions to help with another investigation. The Serious Handler steps up to be your temporary partner and provide the normal support The Handler would in her absence.

The thing that makes it fun is despite her only being your quest giver for a couple of quests Capcom went and changed multiple cinematics from minigames and such you can do to put the Serious Handler in them.

And in one case its more than just a model change out.

There's a steamworks minigame where the end of it results in a cutscene with Felynes getting overexcited and throwing ever more coal into the furnace. The normal cutscene has your Handler throwing a few Root vegetables into the furnace to sneakily cook them for good eats.

While the Serious Handler is trying in complete vain to get the Felynes to stop throwing more coal into the furnace.

Both cutscenes end with a big kaboom that follows cartoon physics where no one gets hurt.

It's also a fun demonstration of their different personalities, as both are good people and generally friendly. But where as your Handler does like to throw caution to the wind in her eagerness, the Serious Handler definitely has that more safety and cautious oriented mindset.

While yeah its hard to miss a complete model change in a cutscene this is a detail that's easy to miss since if you don't do the minigame or some of the other stuff before progressing the story, well you won't ever see those particular scenes with the Serious Handler in them.

Man I love the lyrics they made for this theme so much. It really just hits the whole vibe of the game world, how the point of the The Guild is to protect civilization and try to keep the ecological balance.

Since while game mechanics wise you grind out the same monster over and over for materials to upgrade armor. A very addictive game loop. Lore wise you are only going after the trouble monsters, the ones that are out of control or otherwise threatening the village or other people in some manner.

Plus even though story isn't the strongest in the games, the ones I've played have always made it apparent that your Hunter is part of a community/group. You are not a loner just taking random guild contracts you are doing this to help protect your home. There are ruins in a lot of the games, and from what i've heard it sounds like in the distant past the Wyverians and Humans had a similar mindset that we do. The land is ours to do with as we please and take what we want. Which caused a calamity that nearly got them wiped out. (I'm not 100% on this though.)

And since then the mindset of 'Being one with nature' became dominant, and civilization flourished again by taking just what they needed to as opposed to complete hedonistic excess.

So this song really just hits those vibes and I love it.
