Why aren’t we using 4k textures for skins and makeup in Sims 2?  It’s literally possible.

I haven’t checked, by I am fairly certain that what you described is happening. But what is confusing me is, why it seems like after using bodyshop to create my texture, everything else in-game (like everything in CAS, makeup, eyes, skin) look blurry as well? Does that have to do with corruption?

Sims 2 Help

So if any creators have any idea why my bodyshop projects are blurry, then once in game, in turn, turning everything in game blurry??? I suspect it’s because of compression from bodyshop, but why is it making LITERALLY every piece of cc and skin blurry IN GAME/CAS? Is it the same reason? Do I have to re-install the entire game and bodyshop?

Why is recoloring a simple wall sconce from the game giving me so much trouble.

Hi! Great to have you back :) Do you still have the "100 Followers Gift" NH Deco? The Dropbox link is dead and I've looked everywhere for the files.

I do not, apologizes

Enjoy this simple piece of CC to re-introduce myself back into the CC community. Thanks to the kind help of @criquette-was-here who walked me step by step in helping jog my memory on how to create Neighborhood deco! This is just a Nice Brick Building, made in Blender 3D. The UV map is kinda weird and the texture stretches a tiny bit on the roof and windows because of it. But it’s really not noticeable. You can download it here! (NO ADFLY LINK) Feel free to retexture the mesh if you feel like <3

I’ve been having fun playing the Sims 2 again! It feels so refreshing to finally have the game running with no problems whatsoever.

Remember when we realized we could make custom sliders years ago for Sims 2?

Clean UI Update 1.3

As the weekend starts, yet another Clean UI update is ready for you! Here’s what’s new:

- ✔️ Graphical issues in the hobby/business milestones are gone - ✔️ Fixed missing Sim portrait in date panel  - ✔️ Included optional horizontal & vertical cursor for the neighborhood camera (if you use a camera mod that also lets you move the camera vertically)

You can download the update in the original download post.

There will be a further update in the future. Please refer to this post to see what I’m working on.

Note: If you have problems with CAS not using widescreen columns or buy/plan outfit being empty, please try to copy the “gckp-clean-ui” folder located in “to_downloads_folder” to your Downloads folder and then to delete the individual files you don’t need in there. Do not move the files you want to keep to your own folder! Even though I can’t guarantee that will fix your problems, it’s the folder structure I’ve been using since I started Clean UI and I never had these problems.

TS4 Hair Conversion Tips

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this quite a bit with 4 to 2 hair conversions lately…

If you are converting a hair from TS4, please - remember to remove the hat hair groups!

All TS4 hairs come with extra groups for the beanies and hats; custom hairs may vary depending if the creator added them or not (but generally most TS4 creators add hat groups to their hairs). Not removing these groups not only make the hair look odd at some angles, it also increases the polycount.

———

Another tip involves the UV, but this is more of a personal quirk, so feel free to ignore this. I know some people look at UV mapping to be a little intimidating, but it’s really simple.

In Photoshop, you can crop the canvas to TS2 size – the lower half of TS4 hair textures is literally empty, so nothing will get cut off (most of the time).

Now you may notice that the texture ends up distorted on the mesh - this is very easy to fix. Open up the texture editor in milkshape: Windows -> Texture Coordinate Editor (or Ctrl + T)

1. Click on the “Scale” button

2. Under Factor, type “2″ in the second box ( x ; y coordinates)

3: Hit the little “S” button and the UV will stretch down

And tada! The UV map now properly aligns with the mesh!

Sorry if this all sounds a little scatterbrain - my brain is a little fuzzy rn, but I just wanted to share these…

I’m proud to announce that I got Sims 2 working on my very expensive gaming computer I purchased about 2 years ago.
