One minute she was alleviating feet of their ivory prison—
And the next, she was yearning to stay here for eternity.
Not entirely what he expected.
Torn from actual articulation, blinking in owlish manner towards this stranger upon the nigh of companionship. Had this land bewitched her already? Struck her in a trance that he had become so used to? Mind demanded answers, yet what could he ask of her? Her admission was clear, sincere in what had been shared to him in the midst of paradise. Serenity perhaps embraced this dame fully, cushioning the weight of what she proposed—demanded, even. Was it his place to take that away from one who had endured so much pain? An unseen battlefield in her heart, a strangled mind free of any rules or restricting force.
They were more alike, yet she would never admit it. They were barely strangers, the prospect of doing so somewhat maddening to even him.
But he always did make companions in strangest of situations to a hasty degree.
“…You sure?" A train-wreck of thoughts were given a voice, inquisitive and awed in tender note. "I mean… what about your world? And your friends?" An individual like herself would surely have one friend, if not many. Rebels among constrictive societies tended to make the best of them, in retrospect. Abashment suddenly marked him, hand driven to the back of mountainous crown whilst gaze was averted to ivory toes against aureate mounds. "I won’t stop you, but…”

Her small steps stop just at the shoreline where the water begins to recede back out, feeling the cerulean embrace of the ocean she sighs contently and for a second she's lost to the world. All of her hurting melts away as another small wave consumes her feet, another step forward and her ankles plunge under. Now she's torn from the moment of reverie to consider the brown haired boy who smells just like this place, this safe haven and again she looks back over a shoulder, one hand raising to sweep dark locks behind an ear and only that one bright red tress stands out now. She drinks in his gaze, the wide eyes and almost dumbstruck look that's taken his young features. Realization is driven home like a thunderbolt and her entire face suddenly feels as if it's on fire.
Both fists clench as her blunder is realized and for a second she turns away only to quickly whirl on her feet and turn to face her new found companion completely. "O-oi -- no. I didn' mean it like tha'. I was jus' sayin' I'd like to stay somewhere like this." In reality she could stay, but that would mean abandoning her friend, foster family, the tireless search for her Father's killer, and the unlikely friend that she had... lost along the way. The Scissor Blade would torment her endlessly if she jumped ship now. Even looking at it would cause her heart to bleed. She couldn't take it, not without closure of some sort and now she can only hope this stranger can take her back to her own reality at some point.
"I can't stay, I gotta go back an' finish what I started----" She gropes for a word, a name and comes up blank. Her brows furrow and she inhales deeply before continuing "Ya' got a name, somethin' I can call ya'?"
