FIGHT 'till the last BREATH; REBEL 'till DEATH. ✄ DONT LOSE YOUR WAY [ Indie Ryuko Matoi ]

One minute she was alleviating feet of their ivory prison—

And the next, she was yearning to stay here for eternity.

Not entirely what he expected.

Torn from actual articulation, blinking in owlish manner towards this stranger upon the nigh of companionship. Had this land bewitched her already? Struck her in a trance that he had become so used to? Mind demanded answers, yet what could he ask of her? Her admission was clear, sincere in what had been shared to him in the midst of paradise. Serenity perhaps embraced this dame fully, cushioning the weight of what she proposed—demanded, even. Was it his place to take that away from one who had endured so much pain? An unseen battlefield in her heart, a strangled mind free of any rules or restricting force.

They were more alike, yet she would never admit it. They were barely strangers, the prospect of doing so somewhat maddening to even him.

But he always did make companions in strangest of situations to a hasty degree.

…You sure?" A train-wreck of thoughts were given a voice, inquisitive and awed in tender note. "I mean… what about your world? And your friends?" An individual like herself would surely have one friend, if not many. Rebels among constrictive societies tended to make the best of them, in retrospect. Abashment suddenly marked him, hand driven to the back of mountainous crown whilst gaze was averted to ivory toes against aureate mounds. "I won’t stop you, but…

[I wanted to leave my world… and look what happened to me—]

Her small steps stop just at the shoreline where the water begins to recede back out, feeling the cerulean embrace of the ocean she sighs contently and for a second she's lost to the world. All of her hurting melts away as another small wave consumes her feet, another step forward and her ankles plunge under. Now she's torn from the moment of reverie to consider the brown haired boy who smells just like this place, this safe haven and again she looks back over a shoulder, one hand raising to sweep dark locks behind an ear and only that one bright red tress stands out now. She drinks in his gaze, the wide eyes and almost dumbstruck look that's taken his young features. Realization is driven home like a thunderbolt and her entire face suddenly feels as if it's on fire.

Image

Both fists clench as her blunder is realized and for a second she turns away only to quickly whirl on her feet and turn to face her new found companion completely. "O-oi -- no. I didn' mean it like tha'. I was jus' sayin' I'd like to stay somewhere like this." In reality she could stay, but that would mean abandoning her friend, foster family, the tireless search for her Father's killer, and the unlikely friend that she had... lost along the way. The Scissor Blade would torment her endlessly if she jumped ship now. Even looking at it would cause her heart to bleed. She couldn't take it, not without closure of some sort and now she can only hope this stranger can take her back to her own reality at some point.

"I can't stay, I gotta go back an' finish what I started----" She gropes for a word, a name and comes up blank. Her brows furrow and she inhales deeply before continuing "Ya' got a name, somethin' I can call ya'?

Like a dream.

A safe haven kindled by reality, yet unable to be rid of the sensation that it would vanish if he were to glance away. Perhaps such stemmed from the tragedy that tore this place apart on that fated night—that incident that seemed like mere eons ago. A nightmare that shattered the illusion of an endless dream, tides no longer controlled by tranquil’s tender grip, now reigned in by the chaotic wrench of darkness itself. It wounded them all, in a sense. Even as he stood upon the sand that bore the history of a childhood he could hardly remember—the ache was still there.

Memories.

Reminiscence that would never fade, nor ever cease in its pain.

…It’s small—but good.

A simple world, none too descriptive of what lied betwixt the folds of pure serenity; yet it was perfect. A single term to exhibit how this world made others feel, even one so brazen as she. A glance towards her, ordinary simper wielded along fairest contours. “Still wanna’ stay? I can take you back. …Jus’ wanted to show you that I was telling the truth." Some unused region of his mind swelled with eagerness at carrying out so much sincerity, woefully aware that he had broken about a dozen rules in even making a citizen aware of other worlds.

But it wasn’t the first time.

Besides—

He liked her.

The heavy steel case drops down to the sand forgotten, she's now using it to sit down on to untie her shoes ( rather than bend over, the case won't die with a little sand right? ) and over her shoulder she glances toward the boy again. Wonder continues to cloud her mind, but she can't think of a single reason why he'd want to leave this place and travel -- especially to the area she lives in. It's awful there, the air is full of smog and there's violence around the clock. This place is as close to heaven as she'll get, in contrast.

"S'great, actually." She mutters darkly, still doing her level best to brood and offset the male. Just because he had come through on one truth didn't mean she'd give him her trust yet, but maybe it was a step in the right direction. Now focused on her shoes which are unlaced the femme quickly discards them before turning to face the male once more. "Can I go in th' water?" She asks almost meekly, cheeks flushed a slight red color and for once even the brash young drifter is almost abashed by her volatile personality. "I wanna stay -- forever. This place s'like a dream come true." She stands up and takes a few slow steps, the light breeze ruffling her pleated skirt as she walks.

"Guess I'll let ya' off this time, doesn' mean I like ya' or anything."

Making friends wasn't her strong suit, but there was something about this one in particular--

Proof! …Or well—my world.

A technicality shattered, alleged isles being that of no one’s particular world, but it was a home to him all the same. So serene of land burned into the very essence of his heart, unable to forsake the riches of a land that practically raised him from birth. If not for the one they were on, the chance to meet a princess from another world would not have occurred. Nor would he have ever met his cherished comrade, succeeding in befriending someone whom would fight alongside him for years to come.

image

C’mon! I’ll show you around." A heedless manner for her flustered state, pivoting upon leather heel as he began to exit her transported room. But not before an arm was raised once more, phalanges snapped together and a puff of cerulean smoke appeared to her right wall. A brief glance spared to what appeared when the fog faded, ashen case containing something she valued greatly—and obviously. "I dunno’ what’s in there, but there you go." Carefree in the admissions given forth, yet entirely pleased upon returning once more to this region of tranquility.

Rickety entrance to her room was opened, sunlight pouring inwards as feet encased in ridiculous shoes crunched upon amber field. A shoreline stretched far to the left and to the right, docks just to the right of him from a mere league away. Unyielding tides before them, ever colorful in the constant shift between cerulean and emerald; a kaleidescope within beloved waters.

Good to be home.

"Y'live here? This ain't some joke is it -- I swear I'll bash yer head in if yer lyin' to me."

Eyes still wide she turns her attention outside once more, marveling at the smooth waves and the reflection of the sun on the crystal clear water. Even from within she feels the serenity of the land before her, a place where life is easy, somewhere that you wouldn't have to worry about fighting for your life every day. Her head tilts to the side and a sense of almost childish glee blossoms in her chest -- momentarily her problems from her world are forgotten and she wants nothing more than to jump into the water out in the distance.

"Show me aroun'?" Ryuko shoots back, still obviously wary of the other male and yet as he turns to exit the dull silver case where her true means of protecting herself ( fists not included ) is within reach now and he's -- offering it to her? Uneasily she strides past him and with deft hands she grabs hold of the rectangular object and practiced motion allows her to situate it over her shoulder before exiting. "... I could kill ya' with what's in here." She whispers to the back of his head, taking care to stay a few feet behind him and yet there's nothing but wonder in bright blue eyes as the island comes into full view, no longer obstructed by the room it looks even more majestic.

Image

For a second she's flabbergasted all over again, white shoes crunching down on the strange earth below and even though this is nothing like she's ever seen there's an odd sense of peace here. Prior to today she would have defined peace as solving the mysteries behind her father's death, but there was no arguing with the soothing aura that encased this island -- where ever the hell she was. "This is real, huh--"

…Uh. …Okay.

[Is she serious—?]

Either way, he surmised that his demise would be soon met if the wielder wouldn’t do something. The thought upon leaving drew into his mind once more, yet pride beckoned him to prove her wrong—to shove that disgusting insult back into her face and proclaim his righteous status. Yet even then, wouldn’t she merely try to end him when she realized he was some otherworldly sorcerer? The many qualms, a plethora of them, belonging to a warrior from the stars were difficult to adhere to, yet the possible chance in making a comrade…

Well that was far too great to resist.

You asked for it—!

Lateral of limbs raised, index finger and thumb pressed together—

And a snap vibrated throughout the small space of her room, before it descended into a mere hum; aura shifting about them from what unseemly spell took place. Nothing within the interior had changed, but a nod from the wielder to her window would be enough proof for her. A spare glance bestowed to the view towards outside, nearly grinning at all those twinkling lights.

So many worlds—all under one sky.

The female doesn't expect any form of proof to be offered to her, so it comes with a great shock that the boy begins to move. There's a moments consideration again for the cased weapon across the room, there's nothing here to force his hand and whatever he's going to do there's only one way for the female to take it. Eyes narrow harshly as she leans closer and begins to mouth words.

"Asked for wha----" The words die in her throat as a loud snap resounds in the air and just as her eyes refocus on the brown haired male he's gone and so is her room, everything goes fuzzy for a moment and disorientation rattles the young vagabond to a knee. A grunt escapes taut lips and suddenly the feel of ground under her body again brings Ryuko back to reality. Eyes widen in shock as she quickly rises to secure her footing again and with a gasp there's finally the proof she had been searching for.

image

They were no longer anywhere near the Academy, she wasn't sure where the hell they had gone -- all she could see was bright sun and clear skies.  Something that she hadn't seen in her life up until this point, a clear sunny beach laid out before her and now she whirls on the male quickly, fury rising in her veins. "Oi! Th' hell is this, how'd ya' do that -- th' hell is this place." Questions spew from her mouth rapidly and the flustered youth looks back and forth between the window and the stranger.

B-But…" Sputtered through an encroaching stupor attempting to suffocate him so, perfectly aware that the notion of leaving this girl’s room was entirely sound. Yet something, always something, kept the wielder rooted to the floor. —Pride. Yes, that was it. Certainly a degrading thing to one so pure as he, yet it remained in his makeup. And being called something so less of what he was managed to wound that dwindling ego.

Tiers were parted from their firm line to relieve a sigh, arms becoming noodles at each side of his body. “I can prove it…

Image

"Prove it, then." She hisses, dangerously eying the large steel case that contains her scissor blade which is currently situated in the corner of the room behind the strange boy. It wouldn't be hard for her to ease around him and reach it, or she could just bull rush him down and dive for the weapon. That'd be sure to chase him out, who'd want to spend time with a half-scissor swinging girl with a bad temper. Yet in essence that's all Ryuko is, on the surface anyway.

"Let's see some stars, buddy." Demanding again for proof, maybe, just maybe she'd forgive the male for his intrusion -- after all it wasn't like she was naked or anything, the femme fatale had just walked in from school to find him standing there looking dumbfounded.

It—I—It DOES! …M’a traveler from the stars!" An undeniably flimsy excuse in the face of anyone ordinary—yet it was the truth. A hesitant arm raised, index finger flexed to her ceiling. "Up there. Came from there… and now I’m here.

image

"Yeah an' I'm a monkey's uncle." She folds her arms tight across her chest and clenches her eyes shut. It's irritating enough with the constant barging in of her foster family, but now she's got this guy coming in and claiming to be traveling from the stars. "Go find someone else ta' peep at, bub."

✂ || Lingering in the shadows for just another moment to his six months in hiding, He thought long and hard of his return, His decision was more in the heat of suspense, but a final one nonetheless. A long exhale. A Sigh, in preparation for what he hypothesized to be, an interesting encounter with his daughter. He had a lot to explain, to apologize for, and to discuss with the owner of the Kamui.

image

Taking a step foreword, darkness no longer played his costume. Isshin stood behind his daughter, a few several feet away, with a short cough, he managed a word. “Ryuuko”

Image

Nearly jumping out of her skin the femme fatale whirls and focuses her gaze hard on the source of that still familiar voice -- despite not having heard it for quite some time she still remembers the gruff tone her father possessed and a sharp breath escapes her as she struggles to muffle the shriek of grief as what she's assuming to be a spectral visage lingering before her.

"F--father." No. A voice in her head chimes, memories flooding back and reminding her that the man before her is indeed deceased; he couldn't possibly be here she had witness his final moment with her own two eyes. It couldn't be... "This is a joke, y'gotta be kiddin' me." Ryuko's voice threatens to waver as she studies the eerily lifelike visage intently, still unable to believe it's legitimacy. "You're... dead." Nightmares are seldom fair, yet she likes this one less than any of the others.

"Good good! This is going to be so much fun! You’re no longer going to hold back, right?~ You’re going to show me just how powerful your father’s dying work really is!" Cheering and clapping with excitement, the blonde couldn’t believe how brave the female was becoming. Course the angered female was only being powered with rage, but that was of course fine by her.  " I don’t a kill joy,but just know this is your last chance to show me just how fun you can be! If you fail……you’ll die."

image

Just as the female walked toward her, Nui delightfully skipped her way to the other with her her Scissor blade in hand.  Another round ,and another chance for the other female to gain revenge for a man she knew very little about.  Swinging her blade at the female with intense speed and power, she was giving Ryuko very little chance to make the first move.

Image

"I ain't gonna die, I won't hold back, and this is only gonna be fun for me!"  She inches closer, leaning forward and spreading her legs to react to any oncoming assault and held out in front of her the gleaming Scissor Blade stands poised for attack. "'m gonna show ya', alrigh'. Cut of yer limbs one by one." Feral growling resounds from within and just as she hunches down lower to dart forward the blonde is on top of her, nearly getting inside her guard with a brutal sweep of her own scissor blade and it takes everything Ryuko has just to plant her feet and clash steel to steel with her sworn enemy.

Teeth grit as she pulls her face in closer to Nui, intense anger burning in her eyes and with a sarcastic laugh she grips the weapon with both hands and shoves hard against the murderer of her father. "Hah! As if 'm gonna fail -- dyin' isn't an option, I'm savin' that part for you, bitch!" Now she pulls back, leaping backwards and sprinting hard to the left before aiming a low sweep at the legs of her opponent.

—"Mako…Mankanshoku…Satsuki Kiryuin?" No other breath has passed through the room other than her own, but the warrior allows a moment to rack her psyche for the names or any variation of sobriquet. It’s the most she can do in offering her service, fingertips tapping against the glossy pages of the book. There’s a possibility that they are the infamous ‘ditchers’ of the club, though Mirai would have to affirm that claim with one of her Senpais first.

“I wish I could be of some help, but neither of them have been here since I arrived. Maybe I could ah…Take a note for you? If you think they’ll be around, I could leave one here!”

She leans up against the counter and lets out a quiet sigh, dropping her eyes and looking down at the polished wood for a second before rising back to full height and shrugging her shoulders to adjust the large steel case draped across her back. "Actually jus' forget about tha' bitch Kiryuin. I need ta' find Mako an' get the hell outta here."

Now at an impasse of sorts she wanders to a table and sinks down heavily into the chair, she's too exhausted to spend the after school hours pursing Satsuki, and without the company of Mako she can hardly leave the Academy -- no way the drifter was gonna leave her friend behind for potential danger. "I dunno if she'll come this way -- is there somethin' goin' on today? Norm'ly we're  outta here as soon as tha' bell rings, but I can't find her."
