She agreed and looked him all over, deciding where to place it on him. Clary hadn’t specified whether it should only be applied to women, as Mundane birth control is. But she didn’t want to take any chances so she scooted gently forward, legs still around Julian and told him to pull up his shirt. 

He pulled it off anyways with a quick shrug and waited while she pressed the tip of the stele against his skin, right above the belt, bracing himself for the stinging kiss of it, surprised as always by the subtle heat and the way it lightly bit his skin, leaving a scorching trail behind that quickly subsided. 

“Does it hurt?” Emma whispered, noting his furrowed brows.
