My fiancee has been excepted into an AmeriCorps program called City Year. This is huge for her, but it's about 2500 mines away from our home in Oregon. We've already saved up some money, and continue to do so, but to get there safely, she could use some help! If you could donate anything, we'd so very appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi, my name is Celeste! I recently graduated from University of Oregon in 2014 with a major in Planning, Public Policy, and Management with a special focus in Non-Profit organizations. I wanted to spend some time post graduation serving others, so I was excited to learn that I was accepted into City Year, one of AmeriCorps largest programs. One of the things that makes this such a special program is that it is highly competitive-only 1 in 4 applicants get in. Another thing that makes my journey unique is that I have decided to look outside my community in Oregon, and applied for the program in Columbus, Ohio. I will spend 1700 hours over the course of 10 months serving a school to help fight the drop out crisis plaguing our schools, by bridging the gap left in so many classrooms by tutoring and giving special attention to students that need extra help. I will work early mornings to late nights serving students. I am proud to be part of a prestigious program.
The only problem is that it pays very little- and there is no relocation stipend. I’ve already saved up a huge amount to help with my move, but I need just a little more to ensure that I get to Columbus safely and can pay all deposits on a place to live. This program is so special to me already and I am excited to be serving others while on a team of my peers, I just need help to make this a reality. Thank you so much for all your contributions and support.
Help my fiancee get to Columbus!

TCR | 2014.12.01 | "In 1977, when I was in 8th grade, I won two tickets from a local radio station to see this new movie Star Wars, two weeks before it came out nationally. I loved it. But at school on Monday I couldn’t explain how everything was different now because nobody had seen it. They thought my Darth Vader impression was just asthma. Then the movie comes out and everybody’s saying it’s the greatest thing ever but I saw it first. I have been a Star Wars fan two weeks longer than any of you."
Stephen Colbert can get it
Then, uh… next time you see me, I’ll be a stranger.
Loved this scene so much
