horrific article from the bbc broke last about israel detaining healthcare workers, stripping them naked, and beating them for days on end. we already knew israel was doing this to palestinian detainees, but to be deliberately targeting medical personnel--doctors and nurses and medical assistants on the ground trying to heal wounded palestinians--and then literally torturing them are on levels of cruelty i can't even begin to compute.

a humanitarian law expert in this article calls the footage coming out of this "concerning." i call it the terms racists love to throw baselessly at arabs: barbaric and inhumane.

the article goes into doctors' accounts of this in more detail, but they describe being tied to chairs and sliced with glass. being thrown into vehicles and beaten on the way--with rifles, with fists, hoses, sticks. they were constantly humiliated. they had to stand for irregular hours. they were left in nothing but boxers. many of their families don't even know they're detained and are frantically reporting them as missing. actual doctors. israel is now torturing doctors in gaza.

adding that since israel’s raid of this respective hospital, 13 out of the 200 patients have died. because the doctors who were treating them are now being held in torture chambers.

A not so friendly reminder. Rafah is under is under attack and has been since Sunday. Tell again how this isn’t a genocide? They were forced into this β€œsafe zone”, but it’s no longer a safe zone. The Zionist have taken a page out of history’s worst playbook. Enough quit saying it’s about the hostages, it never was, because if it was they won’t be targeting and terrorizing β€œsafe zones”.

Remember Hind. Remember Reem. Remember all the little boys and girls who are more than mere numbers. They are dreams, humanity's innocence, and most importantly they are not to be forgotten.

still absolutely cannot wrap my head around how ppl are not condemning the iof and calling for a permanent ceasefire even after the news broke out about hind. she was six years old. trapped inside a bombed car where five of her relatives are martyred. iof tanks laid siege on a six year old girl calling her mom for help. because she was scared and alone and starving. iof waited until the paramedics came to save hind and killed them all. remember hind. remember yousef. remember ahmed. death to israel. ceasefire now.

OP isn't exaggerating. There are countless of videos of the IDF shooting at crowds of Palestinians trying to find food for themselves and their starving families. The UN World Food Programme even suspended delivering aid because the IDF won't stop shooting people.

the men and boys are innocent too.

we cry "the innocent women and children" to appeal to the masses, to try and force their sympathy, but the men and boys are innocent too.

I have seen sons crying out for their mothers, their fathers, their siblings. I have seen them break down at the loss of their families. I have seen them cling to their dead and grieve.

I have seen fathers cradle their dead children, seen them kiss their faces and hold their little hands. I have seen them faint with grief when asked to identify the dead. I have seen them carry their sons and daughters. I have seen them fasting to provide what little they can for their families.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.

it actually hurt reading this update. civilians claim they found a minimum of 30 bodies near the hamad school in northern gaza, with both of their legs and hands tied, their eyes blindfolded. they were already in a state of decomposition. presumably they were tortured and killed, then dumped into a mass grave with no one the wiser. this cannot be any more blatant of a war crime, but still no authorityβ€”be it the ICJ or otherwiseβ€”is truly stepping it to put an end to israel’s relentless genocide of palestinians. to top it off, if israeli officers do release palestinian detainees, they do so in the most humiliating way possible. the same al jazeera article mentions that any palestinian detainees released were released in underwear. literally just underwear. no other clothes on. it’s insane how committed they are to ensuring that every act is an act of dehumanization. i am genuinely sick to the bone of anyone who has the gal to see all these atrocities and still have the nerve to say that this is not a genocide in live time.
